I had planned to post on something else altogether. But as I was searching for pictures these motifs répètés kept popping up. Have you ever walked past a Parisien patisserie where the window was not full of delicious repeated pastry patterns?
Fr marché are full of innovative repeated arrangements of vegetables, fruits and whatever.
Velib lined up on many streets one after the other.
Bonjour Carol--just a quick note to let you know how much I love getting your pictures in my inbox. It always brightens my day. Any idea of a source for those fabulous eiffel tower graters you sent out today? Merci, Karinka
when I got to the bottom of your pattern series today and saw the Eiffel Tower graters, WELLLLLLL..... I just couldn't contain my excitement and desire!
Oh how I want at least one! Reason enough to return to Paris.
Thank goodness you take a snapshot of almost everything you see.
a few of those graters on a wall would make for an interesting piece of wall art. how is your decorating theme coming along by the way? have a wonderful weekend.
Neat post Carol! I wish I would have run into the silhouette guy when I was there. I love those! Please stop by Taste With The Eyes today, you are mentioned. LL
Repeated patterns of "identically dressed" guys and gals (waiting to get a sandwich at lunch) lined up for 20 minutes just to get inside to order. They are all so beautiful but similar...definitely "patterns répéter
My favorite Parisien pattern is Paris Breakfast - always a breakfast, er, feast for the eyes! :-)
I am a little perplexed about the Eiffel tower graters: how in the world can you hold them? The opening for your fingers is so low (just above the arc at the bottom). May just be that it is me who got too much Parmesan in the brain. ;-)
I should have gone with you! LOL! I had a great time despite my friend.. Loved Angelina's a few times! lol Also Printemps Cafe has great food. I am drooling reading your blog thanks for bringing me back feels so sureal that I was there..Hugs Grace
Imagine my surprise when I saw BLAME IT ON PARIS on your website! I was the literary agent for Laura Florand and sold that book to Tor. Thanks for putting it up there!
Bonjour ! I’m Carol Gillott, a former NYer living on Île Saint-Louis in a 21 meter chambre de bonne. As a Paris blogger, travel writer, watercolorist, and photographer, I share my latest escapades so you can walk around the city vicariously in my shoes. To experience even more of the Parisian life, sign up to receive my beautifully Illustrated monthly letters where I paint the Paris your dreams and mail them
to you wherever you are. You can order these letters, along with my art prints, at my Etsy shop.
Describe what you love about France in 3 words. Can we make it 5 words? Eyes, ears, nose, tastebuds + brain. Paris stimulates all my senses constantly. I’m inspired all the time – endlessly surprised and amused. New York doesn’t do it for me anymore…
Ahhh...Pommery. I love that Champagne. I also want one of those Eiffel Tower graters. How Fab!
