Stuff I did this Week in Paris

WEDNESDAY I was en retard/late meeting Solli at fondation Cartier-Bresson in the Marais. Slow buses.  I stopped in Maison Aleph for a consolation pastry. They specialize in crunchy shredded-wheat nests with creamy flavored toppings. I’d never gone inside before, but desperate measure make you brave.

Solli approved👍 And they had pomegranate flavor! I’m on a pomegranate kick since the Samarkand expo.

Rosa Bonheur (1822-1899) Musée d'Orsay

FYI it’s useful to know the musee d’Orsay is always open late on Thursday nights till 9:45

So many exhibits close in January. It’s a month of catching up. I finally went last Thursday to see the Rosa Bonheur exhibit before it closed last Sunday. It was mobbed.

Ciel Gris, Umami, Kusama

I used to think before I moved here that Paris blanket grey skies were romantic.

Paris is a grey city - overcast skies, grey cobbled streets,
 grey Baron Haussmann buildings.

Japan Day

I always want what Kat is eating (in Tokyo). On New Years Day she had traditional holiday dishes; namasu and Toshikoshi Soba noodles.

I’ve been eating  noodles like a fool, sick with FOMO (The fear of missing out - is an emotional response to the belief that important opportunities are being missed. FOMO often leads to feelings of unease, dissatisfaction, depression and stress) since New Years. Eating noodles any which way. Finally, Echizen Tokyo TOGO, opened up after a week’s holiday. Then I didn’t see it on their menu, but got the daily special instead. What the hey.

What I ate & saw this weekend, Galette des Chefs

Do you read The New Fork Times?

Yesterday Solli and I went to the annual Galette des Chefs at Saint Germain des Pres to see all the beautiful galettes.

Pêre Lachaise & Tintin

While out walking Paris’ small back streets with my neighbor Marc (who is probably swimming this minute in the ocean in Marsailles…

He let drop that once a week he walks to the cemetery Père Lachaise
