Carolg:Sorry Naomi, but I don't do the People portraits in Paris anymore. Too much stress. I do paint Paris still lifes and pets.
Naomi:So you mean if we send you a picture of our PARIS breakfast you'll paint that?
Carolg:What a GREAT idea. I'd love to.

Naomi:It would be a wonderful way to remember my favorite breakfast in Paris!
Do you have stacks and stacks of photos, not to mention memory cards full of favorite petite dejeuners and afternoon teas etc.?
Would you love to see them immortalized in a custom watercolor on your wall?
Did you have a petit dej' at Les Deux Magots in St. Germain?
Et voila
Did you break the bank for a chocolat chaud
At Hotel Meurice?
Tea with 3 sucre
Champagne for Breakfast, watercolor at Etsy, 9" x 11"
Did you have champagne for breakfast? Pourquoi pas?

Dear Carol,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I will send a photo taken in the Cafe Mollien in the Louvre to your email address.
Best,
Charles
I LOVE the paintings of Angelina stil lifes that I bought from you!
ReplyDeleteI do just swoon over your lovely watercolors. And, what a wonderful
ReplyDeleteidea! If we did want you to do a custom watercolor for us, would we
let you know, via e-mail and then you would give your address so we
would know where to send the photo? Or, send a digital image via e-mail?
And, does it have to be a tea-time or coffee, etc photo? I love
LONDON and have some great photos of the red mailboxes - pillar boxes
is the correct term I believe. How about doing one of those?
Thanks for the daily inspiration.
Sue
Would you be willing to paint a non-Paris scene? I have some shots I recently took in Budapest.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Janice
Great paintings and photos, Carol.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a winning idea!
Would you do a breakfast at McDonalds :)
Too funny--ever the creative one--lovely watercolors, Carol!
ReplyDeleteOOOOOOH Mah Gawd!
ReplyDeleteCarol, that is the BEST idea EVER!!! Even I would LOVE something like that b/c I take so many darn food pics... I'll think of something like that but how much would the shipping be to France - I wonder?
I think your readers will love this!!!
Take care,
Leesa

ReplyDeleteOh mon ami Carol - If only Naomi had asked sooner...we were in Paris last month, and would have of course took countless photos of breakfast and tea for you to paint...but I'd love to see what you do for other readers!

ReplyDelete@Nikon
ONE Egg McMuffin coming up!!!
Actually that's not a bad idea
Just read today's post, and a thought came to mind. Have you ever done, or been asked to paint a person's wedding cake, or birthday cake?
ReplyDeleteI'm not getting married, but having read your recent blogs on marketing, etc., was kind of wondering how tough it would be to crack into the vast wedding market, and make yourself some money with lovely watercolors of wedding cakes. Kind of a perfect present from a maid of honor, or mother..... After all, people spend a fortune on them, and there would be gobs of photographs, and it makes sense to me that someone might love a watercolor remembrance of their cake to hang on their wall.
Just a thought - no need to reply.
Marlene
Yes, that is a wonderful idea. I was inspired by your paintings of our pets in front of Paris bakeries, but this idea is wonderful too.
ReplyDeleteMaureen
aah! fabulous idea Carole ... I needs to go back to dear Paris and ~prendre le petit dejeuner~ with camera in sac bien sur!!

ReplyDeleteIt doesn't HAVE to be just PARIS
What about an Australian breakfast?

If Leesa could be patient and wait a bit, you could deliver it in person on your next trip!
ReplyDeleteI am going home in 2 weeks! Get ready!!
ReplyDeleteLes croissants...ils me donne de l'énergie pour le reste de mon jour! Miam...un très bon petit-déjeuner ;)

Bonjour, just to let you know how much I adore your blog, I have an award for you on mine. Please take a moment to stop by and pick it up!
ReplyDeleteROFL, Love the video Carol!! But most importantly are your watercolors -- OMG, one day when I can afford to purchase one or many, I definitely HAVE to. I HEART your work and I swear, each time you come back from Maine, your work seems to take on even further depth and beauty, which is hard to imagine since they're all so gorgeous. I'm adoring all the watercolors here and just wishing I could have them. One day...
ReplyDeleteCheers and thank you for always making my eyes dance with joy,
hugs,
Risa
Great and wonderful news!!!!!!! The Angelina painting arrived today and so my husband will get his anniversary present tonight! He is going to love it since he looked at the pitcher filled with molten chocolate and said, "We are not leaving until that is all gone!"
ReplyDelete@RISA!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your comment:

The David Dewey workshop really does get me thinking anew how I can improve my watercolors.
It kind of drives me crazy too doing paintings over and over to get them right. I really need the imput.
merci

Carol,
ReplyDeleteI received a wonderful surprise in the mail today! J 'adore les petite peintures! They are so sweet and a perfect way to commemorate our trip. Now on to framing them...
Carol merci beaucoup for the good memories of our Paris trip.
Fondly,
Leslie
The tablescape watercolors arrived yesterday in perfect condition and I couldn’t be more pleased.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, indeed.
And I would praise their perfection to readers on Paris Breakfasts but my wife reads it and that would spoil the surprise.
I will stay in 102, avenue de Villiers in paris. Could you suggest me nice place for a good breakfast nearby?
