I seem to see a lot of BIG faces in Paris adverts. This is for 'hairy' lashes... In the Tokyo Lash Bar at Galeries Lafayette.
Not all these big face adverts are for just a pretty face.
BIG hair does seem essential.
L'homme Parisien = BIG hair.
Couple Parisien = big hair togetherness.
Even bigger hair togetherness!
BIG cat faces/gueules are de rigueur
As are big adorb chiens...
The lowly orange grows huge in a Metro affiche - too big for his own chapeau.
At CDG airport Maison du Chocolat doesn't want you to leave without some bigger than your face chocolate macarons.
A nice twist on Woody Allen's You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger poster emphasizing the 'back' of the head.
Love all these ads--they're eye-catching and fun. Paris in my face is ok with me, Carol.
ReplyDeleteOK... you lost me at the Killer chocolate Macarons!!! :))
ReplyDeleteYou're right Cris.
ReplyDeleteUnclear
The chocolate macarons in the poster are enormous - bigger than your face..
Sigh. I love your blog. :)
ReplyDeleteThis post gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "Big Mac"!!!
ReplyDeleteSince the feels-like outside is 7 degrees, I would like to be in a room papered with your full-size big images. Especially the macs!
Reading your blog is like opening a door to another world.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Love the Stunning images you posted. They are simple yet elegant with a lovely mixture of style, textures, and color which makes them very pleasing to the eye
Speaking of BIG HEADS;
ReplyDeleteWith all the recent snow and cold weather in the Northeast, I've been keeping my head cozy wearing a 2nd World War Bombardier's hat, that is fleece lined, and made individually by hand, to fit a specific person's head. In this case; my VERY BIG head.
I think I look a bit "Geeky," but
it's a trade-off, for the warmth.
Bombardier's hats are VERY in this year according to NY Times Bill Cunningham!
ReplyDeleteWhooops...
ReplyDeleteDid I say "Geeky?"
I meant to say, "I think I look VERY cooooool!"
Great selection, Carol, really beautiful work on those ads.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind being on that beach either :) It's a frosty up here!
I loved your photos from the auction. Like time travelling.
ReplyDeleteLike the color schemes in the adverts and the whimsical tone of some of them.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention--this week your blog reminded me of the Three Colors Trilogy with Juliette Binoche. I love how you feature different colors in different posts.
ReplyDeleteCarol I just wanted you to know that I find your blog amazing. You always have something interesting...and included with a few choice funny comments.
ReplyDeleteAlways btightens my day! I was just mooning over the fact that I have no time to go this spring as I am in the midst of writing my master thesis...But then I thought: Why not the fall? I've never been to Paris in the fall! Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh my heart is captured~ so funny!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to invite you over to Fabulous French Fridays at the Metis Linens blog as I know you too love the French lifestyle.

Au Revoir!
i could do with a little of ALL of that! but who am i kidding? we are talking about paris here!
ReplyDeleteLots of gorgeous faces! That photo of the Parisian dude reminds me, though, of some advice my friend in college gave me: never date a guy who takes longer to do his hair than you do.
ReplyDeleteI just love those eyelashes! False eyelashes are annoying to wear but I love feeling a little Brigitte Bardot! Well, in my mind, but there you have it.
ReplyDeleteDid you purchase some of those FAB eyelashs?
ReplyDeleteIncredible. Sensible beauty in each of the photos.Spectacular selection. Compliment to the blog admin. We enjoy seeing Paris through your blog
ReplyDeleteTres magnifique, gorgeous portraits!
