Think Pink

Strawberry Gateau, watercolor. It's THINK PINK for SPRING!
In Bloomingdales last week I was bombarded with PINK. This giant Marc Jacobs HOT PINK 'Plumbers' bag is major YUM.
Pink or rather Ispahan pink (a kind of rose) is a standard Pierre Herme. Here his lolly pop, Ispahan glass/verrine and Ispahan gateau. PINK makeup is always in. This sign in Bloomies was too pretty to pass by.
Juicy Couture LOVES PINK!!!
This sneaker of theirs - what's not to love?
They even have a very pale pink knight in pink armor in their Bloomies boutique.
Betsey Johnson had a PINK CUPCAKE charm bracelet.
Hot PINK sequine ballerinas.
Moving over to Dylan's Candy Bar across the street from Bloomies I was looking for PINK gummy bears.
Nothing to show -I ate em!
They also had a ridiculous hot pink purse for candy.FUN!An aside - I once left a pink/red paint color chart for Pierre Herme at his rue Bonaparte boutique. You never know.
I've got new silver trays inhouse.
This one is only 2 1/2" wide and the PINK teapot is 1" high. Lots of new mini goodies - more PH macarons. I'm playing with my new mini toys too much. First things first. That's why I'm in "Get Organized" class
Two other pink - posts

Love your new watercolors here, Carol--and forks now, too! Sweet! Nice new tray! I happen to love pink--not everyone does, but I always feel feminine in pink. ;)) So your post is cheery today!

  2. I love pink!!! Especially this time of year...Have you seen the opening of Funny Girl where Kay Thompson of Eloise fame sings it as she heralds the new trend in fashion...oh yeah, pink is a good thing! And so good for our complexions!

I'm not a pink person but your pinks have brightened up a dreary, grey, cold day here in Boston

    Dear Carol,
I'm in charge of the art deco trivia contest at our art deco film festival here and on the first contest I had a question regarding pink.

We all know that the term 'shocking pink' was invented by Elsa Schiapparelli but do you know what is was called almost 20 years before that?
    Cheers,
    Stephan

It's interesting that the Wikipedia article tells what it was called after Schiapparelli but makes no mention of before her naming it. According to Erte in his autobiography "Things I Remember" he states that during the late war years and early 1920s when the tango was all the rage, the color was called Tango Orange. It wasn't considered a popular color and soon disappeared. With the name Shocking Pink it became much more popular. Sometimes, that's all it takes.

The new tray and minis are thoroughly approved! Well, in case you were worried ... And reason enough to put off all that nasty organizing! Perhaps not enough to excuse procrastinating on the PSE homework...but then so am I!

    Hi Carol,
Waking up to these images of la Duree dreams, baby colors surrounding croissants, breakfast platters, simmering tea cups and coffee encounters: I loved seeing your blog. I, too, am a passionate lover of all things macaron, decadantly sweet, chocolatey treasures, pinkishly perfect in presentation...
The only question I still have, and the one which brought me to your website, is: do you recommend any cozy, romantic, lazy cafe/restos in Paris which serve breakfast? (The French are up in arms about Sunday brunch, but what about brunch-like pleasures mid-week?)
