On Friday Asuncion Aranda in Seville wrote: Please COME BACK from "Lilliput"...I miss your "talkings"about that green or YELLOW...
I ran to check on my little YELLOW duck...still there sitting on the tub, waiting patiently for me to remember to paint him.All this tiny madness is making me crazy ;D
Canard de Bain by Florentijn Hofman
I always like to take heed of PB's savvy readers...ahem
And I found this wonderful YELLOW duck sculpture of Florentijn Hofman of Rotterdam!

Florentijn's duck or Canard de Bain, has a much bigger pool of water to swim in - the Loire River
I love the scale of this ducky -
26 x 20 x 32 meters!
I would like to invite Florentijn's duck to tea.
But I'm not sure he likes cupcakes..?
Florentijn Hofman says of her duck:
A yellow spot on the horizon slowly approaches the coast.
People have gathered and watch in amazement as a giant yellow Rubber Duck approaches.
The spectators are greeted by the duck, which slowly nods its head.
The Rubber Duck knows no frontiers, it doesn't discriminate between people or have a political connotation.
The friendly, floating Rubber Duck has healing properties: it can relieve mondial tensions as well as define them. The rubber duck is soft, friendly and suitable for all ages!
I completely agree!
Over the weekend I ate way too many Pierre Herme Collection desserts...Hmmmm
And I'm feeling a bit like the "Stuck Pig" Florentijn created for the Museum van Nagsael. Please visit the other terrific sculptures at Florentijn's site!
And if you want a YELLOW duck of your own, please visit Amazon!
Those are a riot, Carol! Sweet painting with the ducks! I love the notion of that huge one floating down the water! Thanks for the cheer this morning!
ReplyDeleteYes I'm in love with this big ducky too :)
ReplyDeleteMmmmmm..
ReplyDeleteI would NOT want to be under that ducky as it flew overhead!
RUN FOR COVER!
Dear Carol...
ReplyDeleteDo you want all your Paris Breakfast readers who love your tiny madness to kick me on my ass????
(sorry for the American Gangster slang)
This is your revenge ;D
Thanks God I love you anyway and on Saturday my shopping was completly devoted to tiny piu-piu earrings and little Tour Eiffel pins to wear everywhere.
Just DUCKY!! What a wonderful and happy start to my day. Merci!
ReplyDeleteRubber ducky...you're so fun.... honestly, we just never know what you will do next! And how much fun is that? Lots! I wonder how you say that in Seville? Gracias per duckie de goma?
ReplyDeleteAll best, Jan

ReplyDeleteMakes me think of a little child who won't let go of his rubber duck and even takes it to the breakfast table...

ReplyDeleteI love the min's and I love the huge duck ! I would love to see him floating down the river here !!!

ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the second picture I freaked out! I said, "oh No!! What happened to Little Yellow Ducky?!" :-o
I love the stuck pig! lol.
That is one big duck! The differences in scale are blowing my mind with the big duck then the one near the cupcake. Wow! : )
ReplyDeleteDon't forget Ernie's DO DE RUBBER DUCK song!!!
ReplyDeleteDo de duck...rubber duck..rubber duck...
I'm in love with the giant rubber duck and the stuck pig!!! In KC, we have a rubber duck race every summer in a famous (or rather infamous) Brush Creek (During the reign of Mayor Prendergast, the entire creek bed was lined in concrete from one of P's own companies!). Anyway, I think it's for a charity because you can buy a duck for a pittance and race it down the creek with several thousand others!
ReplyDeleteThank you for a ray of sunshine after a 12 hour day sorting out other peoples' problems.
This totally cracked me up!
ReplyDeleteYou are so whacky
I am
lucky to know you.
love
bel
c'est fou!! et sympa!!!
ReplyDeleteThe stuck pig!
ReplyDeleteOh my,
every time I try to sin, I will think of that stuck pig now. :-)
I already own two yellow rubber duckies. They reside in my guest bathroom. It's not the Loire river, but there's water there, aplenty. ;-)
Those last rubber ducks look like Peeps, my kind of sweet treat. But then I've never had the pleasure of tasting French sweets on a silver tray with tea in porcelain tea cups like the ones in your delightful painting.
ReplyDeleteI'm not too sure how I arrived at your site, but I am so happy I did! this duck is amazing!
ReplyDeleteyou have to see what this girl does with peeps!
