Chocolat Chaud at Fauchon, watercolor on paper, 12" x 15"
Who saw the BORAT movie out there? Admit it! OK, so this is another cup of hot chocolate...but I don't have any watercolors of so-called "weird chocolate"...
The French are way ahead of us when it comes to weird chocolate - ABSOLUTEMENT! If you went to Arizona, would you find "cactus" chocolate? I don't think so.We have some serious catching up to do in the U.S.!
I know I said over and over get to know your cacao beans... Is this carrying it a bit far? And look at those chocolate bars hanging from the waist. You can always eat your dress if necessary...from the Salon du Chocolat couture show. Hmmm...this was at the Paris show. They offered to give me "a schmear" (on my face!) No merci :) You could write a letter to a loved one using chocolate! Jadis et Gourmande specializes in chocolate letters. You compose the message....Jean-Paul Hévin spent days (!?) creating this wonderment for last year's Salon du Chocolat. It's not so easy to make a REAL shoe out of chocolate evidently. Is this little girl thinking, "Hmm...will he give me the crumbs when he's done sculpting his chocolate?"
I came to your blog via Maryam's mymaarkesh.com. Vow, It is nice to see all things french, since I am currently learning the language. My husband drooled over your water colors. Thanks for the info on the Pigment store. We will be coming by and I will be stopping by ever so often.
~*Chocolate*~ everytime I visit and you know what.. I get a craving .. then I have to ~*eat chocolate*~ so I am off!Today it's choc peppermint bark.mmmm
Well, now we know the mystery of why there aren't more chocolate shoes out there. That's hilarious. I have heard that chocolate is good for your skin so you might want to reconsider next time you're offered a smear of chocolate:-)
I saw Borat, but I almost think he's funnier in "Da Ali G Show." How he does what he does with a staight face is beyond me...he's insane. Your work is lovely, as usual...enjoying it today in Tucson AZ.
Bonjour ! I’m Carol Gillott, a former NYer living on Île Saint-Louis in a 21 meter chambre de bonne. As a Paris blogger, travel writer, watercolorist, and photographer, I share my latest escapades so you can walk around the city vicariously in my shoes. To experience even more of the Parisian life, sign up to receive my beautifully Illustrated monthly letters where I paint the Paris your dreams and mail them
to you wherever you are. You can order these letters, along with my art prints, at my Etsy shop.
Describe what you love about France in 3 words. Can we make it 5 words? Eyes, ears, nose, tastebuds + brain. Paris stimulates all my senses constantly. I’m inspired all the time – endlessly surprised and amused. New York doesn’t do it for me anymore…
The first painting is wonderful!
