The other day as I was browsing through Di's Ghost Furniture.
I was reminded of.
The finiancier I ate at Mariage Freres... And all the lovely madeleines...I encountered...In Paris...YUM That old remembrances of things past came floating back... These tea tins at Mariage Freres on rue du Bourg-Tibourg. Even these brand new tea tins from Pierre Herme came to mind! Did you know he has tea now, to go with his madeleines? Does Pierre Herme even make madeleines? I forget...but he does make the best damn macarons on the planet! And you could certainly have tea with them. That's what happens when you look at Di's patisserie shells...
BONNE JOURNEE

I am confused about the name of this pastry. Is this spelling (finiancier)correct? An admirer of your artwork...Thanks..Virginia
ReplyDeleteIt is the exception that viewing your pages of images doesn't have my mouth watering and longing for Paris.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a recipe for Madeleine's?
Look at those brilliant bright tea canisters from Pierre Herme. Makes me want to bite into a madeleine and drift away. Could be because I haven't had my morning's cup yet. It could be that I just want to jmp into any frame on this page. :)
ReplyDeleteYum.
All bets, Jan
( and I love the roses stamp. )
All best. See no tea yet. :)
ReplyDeleteIsnt it interesting when something you see leads you to reminisce on something you've seen.
ReplyDeleteLove the pretty box painting stamps. Not sure what you do with these stamps but they are so calling to me. :)
I love the blue container in your watercolor.
ReplyDeleteI saw this photo on flickr and thought of you and your photography and paintings...I think you NEED one of these...if not in real life, then in miniature.

ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you, thank you.

The dangers of reading your blog at bedtime - last night I dreamt of macarons, jam jars and cups of tea - all in lush settings (basically, living in one of your photographs). Woke up SO hungry!
ReplyDeleteI am now reading your blog in the middle of the afternoon! Not too long after lunch. I feel it's safer that way...
Alas! My yummy macarons are long gone...I was not able to dole them out one by one as many sensible people would. No, I wolfed them down in just 2 sittings! That did, however, give me the (temporary) feeling of richesse. And now it is summer in Kansas: for "summer" read "95% humidity" and only the foolhardy would attempt a macaron baking session now.....
ReplyDeleteI have not yet spilled the beans about the REAL Paris Breakfasts, but soon, ma chere, soon!
sigh...I feel a need for Paris coming on!!
ReplyDeletexo Lidy
oh madeleine and financier.... i have a soft spot for them
ReplyDeleteI'm going back to Paris on Monday and after an evening of looking at all your wonderful photo's I'm even more excited than before! Thank You!
ReplyDeleteI am inspired! :)
