Think Pink

#151 Strawberry Gateau, original watercolor, 9" x 11"
It's THINK PINK for SPRING!
Get ready!!!

I was in Bloomingdales last week and I was bombarded with PINK!
This giant Marc Jacobs HOT PINK "Plumbers" bag is major YUM is it not?!

#150 Pierre Herme Mini Lolly, original watercolor, 9" x 11"

Pink or rather "Ispahan" pink ( a kind of rose) is a standard with Pierre Herme. Here his lolly pop, Ispahan glass/verrine and Ispahan gateau...

PINK makeup is always in. This sign in Bloomies was too pretty to pass by...
Juicy Couture LOVES PINK!!!
This sneaker of theirs - what's not to love?
They even have a very pale pink knight in pink armor in their Bloomies boutique.
Betsey Johnson had a PINK CUPCAKE!!! charm bracelet...
Hot PINK sequine ballerinas...
Moving over to Dylan's Candy Bar across from Bloomies
I was looking for PINK gummy bears.
Nothing to show -I ate em!
They also had this ridiculous hot pink purse for candy...FUN!
An aside - I once left a pink/red paint color chart for Pierre Herme at his rue Bonaparte boutique. You never know...
I know I'm awfully late posting today :(
I've got NEW SILVER TRAYS in the house!
This tray is only 2 1/2" wide and the PINK teapot is all of 1" high!?
And lots of new MINI goodies - like more PH macarons!!!
YAY! I needed these desperately!
I've been playing with my new mini toys too, too much and not taking care of business. First things first. All the sort of stuff I'm not good at...Ahem :)
That's why I'm in "Get Organized" class
Whatev.. THINK PINK!
Here are two other pink posts for you!

Quelle Wreck!

I thought I'd invite you back into my studio today and first show you something sublime -
Laduree's beautiful pastry boxes.
Now fasten your seatbelts!
You're definitely in for a bumpy ride!
So this is my still life setup area by the one window in my 11' x 11' studio.
I think I have South light - not sure. Afternoon light whatever that is..?
I have a horseshoe setup of "door" tables resting on filing cabinets FULL OF TOO MANY PAPERS! My computer is facing the window area.
The door is to my right so I'm not sure how un-feng shui I am..Hmmm
I usually put whatever I'm painting up on the desktop and paint directly from it. Especially since the subject matter may be long gone..
A pull back showing my wonderful Canon scanner that changed my life dramatically!
THANK YOU Canon!
I used to wait for daylight to shoot my watercolors and then they would still come out pink or crooked..
To the right of my computer - my watercolors and maybe my still life subjects...
My cousin Bill asked me where was I putting all the new miniatures I'm painting of late? They don't take up alot of space Bill :)
Next my watercolor paintbox and enamel palette...
My SURGICAL TOOLS - my paint brushes...
Scalpel please.
Oooops the rest of the table to my left.
So why am I showing you all this havoc?
Because I hope these will become my "BEFORE" pictures.
I am taking ArtBizCoach.com's "Get Organized" class to change things around here.
Are you feeling overwhelmed?
Drowning in clutter?
Losing time to poor habits?
Don't know where to begin to start files and databases?
Chaos has always reigned supreme in my studio. Only in Paris, minus all my junk, have I ever had an airy, open clear place to work and I liked it!? So I've got until February 9th to make some serious changes around here!
YES! Well I'm gonna try anyway..
It would be so nice if every box I receive did not become a table for papers etc.
Plus my new way faster tower is sitting inside this box ( do I have to say it's been sitting there for 2 weeks..?)
I still have a ways to go to top Francis Bacon in messiness...This is now a shrine to him as well as a book, so maybe I should leave things as they are?
But here's a good book to get you going in the other direction -
EAT THAT FROG!
And here is Jana Bouc's very beautifully organized studio!
I thought I'd leave you with some more lovely sublime Laduree boxes after that bumpy ride through my studio.
Are you doing the "January thing" of uncluttering and reorganizing your life too?

Eleni's NY

On Saturday I thought I'd do a little cupcake hunting for you.
Only research of course!
I called Eleni's in the Chelsea Market to see if they had mini cupcakes - rather hard to find in cupcake-leaden New York City believe it or not? And they had them! YAY!
And in 2 flavors and with 4 kinds of icing! YAY!
Eleni's is 2 doors in on your left at 75 Ninth Avenue (in the Chelsea Market)
New York, NY 10011
Let's go in!
The first thing to knock your socks off is this upside down Xmas tree completely decorated with heart-shaped cookies! WOWZA!
A closeup is essential.
And under the Vallentine tree - tons of CUPCAKES!
A little back story is required here -
While living in NYC, Eleni Gianopulos operated a small business baking trays of her mom's oatmeal recipe and selling them out of her apartment.
But New Yorkers wanted more.
Doesn't that say it all.
We New Yorkers always want more!
We demand it!
And we usually get it too :)
I really HEART these gingerbread men...
LOOK! BLUE CUPCAKES!
Who dares to say you can't have BLUE food!?
Oh and minis up the WHAZOO too.
YAY for mini cupcakes!
I bought one of each color and flavor plus the "brownie" mini with the sprinkles...
RESEARCH!!!
Yellow duck HEARTS Eleni's min cupcakes.
Oh and they taste just as good as they look.
Try em!

Florentijn Hofman

#147 Yellow Duck takes tea On Friday Asuncion Aranda in Seville wrote: Please COME BACK from "Lilliput"...I miss your "talkings"about that green or YELLOW...
All this tiny madness is making me crazy ;D
Canard de Bain by Florentijn Hofman
Canard de Bain by Florentijn Hofman
I always like to take heed of PB's savvy readers...ahem
And I found this wonderful YELLOW duck sculpture of
Florentijn Hofman of Rotterdam!
I ran to check on my little YELLOW duck...still there sitting on the tub, waiting patiently for me to remember to paint him.
Canard de Bain by Florentijn Hofman

Florentijn's duck or Canard de Bain, has a much bigger pool of water to swim in - the Loire River!

Canard de Bain by Florentijn Hofman

I love the scale of this ducky -
26 x 20 x 32 meters!

I would like to invite Florentijn's duck to tea...

But I'm not sure he likes cupcakes..?

Canard du bain by Florentijn Hofman

Florentijn Hofman says of her duck:
A yellow spot on the horizon slowly approaches the coast.

People have gathered and watch in amazement as a giant yellow Rubber Duck approaches.
The spectators are greeted by the duck, which slowly nods its head.
The Rubber Duck knows no frontiers, it doesn't discriminate between people or have a political connotation.
The friendly, floating Rubber Duck has healing properties: it can relieve mondial tensions as well as define them. The rubber duck is soft, friendly and suitable for all ages!
I completely agree!

Over the weekend I ate way too many Pierre Herme Collection desserts...Hmmmm

Stuck Pig by Florentijn Hofman And I'm feeling a bit like the "Stuck Pig" Florentijn created for the Museum van Nagsael. Please visit the other terrific sculptures at Florentijn's site!
And if you want a YELLOW duck of your own, please visit Amazon!

Mini Laduree Boxes

#144 Mini Laduree Boxes Mini Laduree boxes... I WISH!
So I've been trying to figure out how I could make some mini Laduree boxes from the mini Pierre Herme Collection...
And it's causing me MAXI-headaches!
I can't really use the backside of the PH boxes..Hmmm
Should I use out-sourcing in India and China to get what I want???
Plus another mini-headache! I Crazy-glued shut the box of Pierre Herme macarons so I have no loose macs for still life setups! Ach! I tell you the problems you can get into with these minis!
To the RESCUE!
Priscilla of
NRFBQueen in Pasadena, California will sell me the one box I need out of the set of 8! YAY
I've been torturing myself -
Do I order another complete set from Hong Kong?
Can I get Lauren of Maitress, who's currently in Tokyo, to go mini-shopping for me.
Do I go back to ebay?
WHAT!
And then thanks to Google I found Priscilla.

You too can get the Pierre Herme pastries of your dreams. Someone asked me if I knew where in New York they could find something like Pierre Herme pastries? N'existe pas!
But in Pasadena it's a different story!
Since I'm on a silver painting kick, I'm getting just the silver tea set circled here..,
And a few other essentials like ice cream cones etc.
Priscilla was telling me that there were so many miniature toys for boys in Japan, that Rement and MegaHouse decided to come up with sets especially for girls. But in fact adult women have turned out to be their biggest customers.
Here's what Rement has to say about their products:
Lovely and cute!
Intriguing fun concepts!
Nostalgic! Nostalgic! Nostalgic!
One heartwarming piece after another!
Are you into gardening? There's a set for you!
Are you a working girl? There's the office lady set for you.
I think this is the after-hours part of the set.
Don't you love the faux Tiffany's bag in just the right shade of blue?

Tray Period

Pierre Herme Ispahan on a silver tray Every artist has their obsessions.
Picasso's Blue PeriodPicasso's “Blue Period” spanned the years of 1901–1904, and was followed by his “Rose Period”. That lasted from 1904 to 1906. Things have speeded up a bit with the internet etc.
Mini cupcake on mini silver tray Would it be presumptuous to say I think I'm going through my "Tray period"? So far it's lasted a week. Keep your fingers crossed.
The "Tray period" is coinciding with the "Cupcake period" (1 week).
This is just to show you how mini the cupcakes are - about the same size as a piece of sushi and maybe even healthier if you listened to the news last night...
And here is the scale of the tray - 5 1/2" x 3"
The mini period" has lasted more than 3 weeks! I lay full blame for the mini obsession on the little Eiffel Towers I bought near the Paris Opera house...
Both the "Pierre Herme period" and the "macaron period " are ongoing. Don't worry!
As is the "Angelina period" once I can get a seat by the window with some good light!
Yesterday Cris in Oregon said...I am totally confused at what is real & what is mini here. But I do know your paintings are taking on a really charming look with all this mini 'clever' madness. :) I can't wait to see the mini silverware and candlelabra in a painting.
So the mini silverware and candlelabra are for you CRIS!
I'm hoping eventually to get back to some adult-sized objects.
Just don't hold your breath for the time being...

Pierre Herme Millefeuille

Tea with Pierre Herme Some of you are concerned that I will soon be focusing on mini puppy dogs and kittens as my subject matter...
Pierre Herme out of the box Not to suggest that the French are not fond of small animals or that there's anything wrong with "cute".
But with the PIERRE HERME MINI-COLLECTION I've got plenty to keep me busy for eons to come.
And not to suggest there is anything wrong with the REAL thing! Always go with the real Pierre Herme Millefeuille a la Vanille if you can!
Pate feuilletee caramelisee, creme de mascarpone a la vanille de Madagascar sounds pretty yummy to me.
But when it comes to painting still lifes it's a heck of a lot easier and a lot less calories to work from a mini model than a petit four with a sell-by date. Plus your refirgerator is not a pandora's box of temptation when you go prowling at the odd hour..
Cost is a factor too along with unavailability in New York...
The "complete" PH collection for all of $27!
And I've only put a toe in the water on this set...
Now how to convince Gerard Mulot and Angelina and Mariage Frere that they need "mini-collections" too? That's the question I'm working on.
Meantime my new candlelabra and forks and spoons just arrived from Amazon!
Merci Amazon :)

Rement Bakery

Paris Breakfast So now what is she up to you must be wondering...Hmmmm
New wonderful stuff! New minis! This is the Bakery set from Rement in Japan.
A Paris Breakfast still-life painter's dream in fact!
Yellow Bird has his petit dejeuner Even Yellow Bird gets into the act and has a proper sized petit dejeuner sitting on a red-checked tray.
Et voila!
These cuties are larger than yesterday's dollhouse treats. 1 : 6 is the ratio here.
The box comes with an assortment of 10 boxes inside, each holding themed goodies.
Organic bread! Weeeeeeeeeee
I am now the proud owner of 2 of these Frenchie style red-checked trays! I could open my own cafe in just a few days...
A sample still life setup with honey in this case. Perfection non?
I found this treasure box in a Japanese store on 2nd avenue. More about that tomorrow...
Meanwhile I've been flirting with more stuff...Ahem
Don't I need a proper fridge to put all the desserts in?
And the tea sets could sit here when not being used. I think I've joined the mad addicted adult collectors of Japanese minis...
Mega house and Rement are the two top mini makers I've discovered so far.
Oh! must not forget a proper table for Yellow bird to take tea...
And these ice cream minis have me melting...

Tiny Doll House

#139 Doll tea set with Pierre Herme macaron box In the name of research I went hunting for forks and spoons to go with my tea sets.
Tiny Doll House was sold out but I found them on Amazon. Still I thought, I must see what they are up to. Tucked away on 314 East 78th street on the upper East side, this is a haven for dollhouse lovers.
Here is the elaborate gabled affair you can see through the front door...
Both walls are lined with room tableaux with highly detailed furnishings. If Chippendale is your fancy you've come to the right place.
Tiny Doll House will build your dream house with no detail neglected.
An example of their attention to detail...
A cat's tea party...
Everything is on a ratio of 1" to 12" =
VERY TINY!
Look at all their china sets!
And this is just a tiny sampling.
Here is the VERY TINY tea set I bought at Tiny Doll House for $13.
The Pierre Herme gateaux were not included.
And here is a comparative analysis of all my tea sets size-wise. Including what now looks gigantic, the doll tea set from the Provence flea on the left...Ahem
I went back to the 99cent store and replenished my tea set supply.
A girl never knows when extra company is coming.
I wish I knew how to get rid of those dreaded decals...
On the back you are kindly reminded:
We reccommend that you wash this tea set thoroughly before use and after use.
Of course! Who needs a reminder?

Reaumur-Sebastopol

OK A little trip on the Metro today. I have to go off to work myself and have no more cupcakes or cupcake paintings for you since I went back to bed after yesterday's post..Ahem
So this in MY Metro in the Marais - Etienne Marcel, a nice old traditional Belle Epoque station.
I love it that the Paris Metro has a seperate entrance and exit for passengers, unlike New York's MTA, where there's always a contest/battle of who gets throught the same entry/exit.
Here's something to remember.
No matter which side of the platform you are on, the train will ALWAYS be coming from your left.
It took many trips to Paris to discover this valuable nugget of info.
Metro Art is a FABULOUS in Paris.
Hello MTA!!! Listen up
I took a special trip to the Metro station Reaumur-Sebastopol just to shoot these interior murals - really enamaled tiles.
I love the brilliant patterns and colors...
Prince Street Station has something like this but in miniature - I'll take some pictures. But I love the abstract graphic assertivness of these larger than lifesize figures.
Each figure has a story to tell.
Franck, 36 ans.
I wish I knew the artist/ designers name who created these...
Terrific contemporary gestural poses...
Even a TV screen with News!
Les goss (the kids) going off to school...
Back inside the very compressed and not so well designed old Metro car a real woman puts on her makeup!
The stations are spacious and airy, unlike the old style Metro cars...
Well, here's the seperate exit I love.
Off to work.
Cya next week with more cupcakes and paintings!

Cupcakes Win

Paris Breakfasts took the day off yesterday and went horizontal.
After bed rest and one aspirin we're back in fighting shape at least for painting if not actually going into the ring to slug it out between the birds and the bears.

Dylan's Candy Bar Cupcakes Cupcakes made the call and won out over birds AND Gummi Bears! These mammoth samples are from Dylan's Candy Bar...

If you can find Gummi Bears, there's a good chance cupcakes are nearby, since both are kid's food.

These mountains of frosting were at REALLY COOL FOODS up the street from Dylan's on 3rd Avenue.
I found the perfect mini cupcake while having soup at David Burke in Bloomindales. I asked if they had any and they ran downstairs and produced this lovely little cake. Just the right proportion of icing to cake and the right fit for my tiny tea tray and tea set!
Beautiful cupcakes on FLICKRSadly the three cupcakes I bought last Sunday are long gone. So I've been feeding myself on Flickr's many divine samples.
Why are the best cupcakes in Australia or South Africa is what I would like to know!?

Gummi Bear War

First of all THANK YOU! for all your get well wishes!!!
And all of your kind cold remedies as well.
I know I said I would spend the day sleeping and watching the mini battle between the birds and the gummi bears over the Pierre Herme dessert collection. Instead I found myself doing battle with the beastly bear and my paint brush.
Dare I say it...These dear little bears are a BITCH to paint!
A gummi bear's anatomy is elusive and slippery.
And luminous as if lite from within.
In addition, resisting their tempting call to be eaten immediately requires great resistance, something I'm not famous for.
Once a gummi bear enters your mouth, you hesitate only a moment..thinking perhaps you might make it last for a bit...
Involuntarily you chomp down instantly and dear gummi bear is gone gone gone.
The best place to find the greatest selection of gummis (and please correct me if I am wrong) is Dylan's Candy Bar in New York at 1011 3rd Avenue.
Talk about temptation beckoning... The lollipop tree!
Here! Caught red-handed with her hand in the candy jar...
Forgot to read the sign I bet.
Yes the prices are high...
OK ridiculous, but well made up for the ginormous selection.
Gummi everything from everywhere in every flavor and color and shape.
Plus a very festive environment!
Here is my tiny bag of gummis - why I must find a way to replenish them today!
Here is your brain on too many gummis...
I'll take another nap and head out briefly for a fresh supply to paint of course!
Research purposes don't ya know...

Sick as a Dog...

Dear Paris Breakfast readers,
So I'm sick as a dog, just like everyone else, down with a rotten cold :(
But I did not "catch" this cold!
All the POMEGRANATES in Spain, Morocco, or California or my refrigerator are not gonna cure what ailes me no matter what I've said in the past!
If I happen to be an idiot and GO OUTSIDE WITH A WET HEAD AND NO HAT after the pool..well then I haven't got a snowball's chance in HELL of avoiding a cold have I?
It's called tempting the fates...
Fortunately my roommate returned from Baden-Baden with the ORIGINAL GUMMIBAR made from REAL FRUIT JUICE!
Bet you didn't know gummy bears were invented in 1922 by HARIBO?
Now I have something new to paint.
And the birds are having a fit!
Gummi bear is mooching in on their Pierre Herme goodies as well as a recently acquired mini-cupcake!
I think I'll spend the day sleeping and watching the mini battle here. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll be in fighting shape with some new watercolors for you dear Paris Breakfast readers.
Please forgive!

Pierre Herme Minis

While I was browsing through PIERRE HERME's web site I realized that he does his own minis!
YUP! PH does petit fours!
AND you get 25 of these cuties for 23 Euros !
Weeeeeeeeee!
The box of Pierre Herme petit fours are included in the mini collection from Japan too! Sweet :)
Last trip I found myself taking pictures of "mini" petit fours everywhere...
These are from Dalloyau.
Boulangerie PAUL of course does mini petit fours...
And Gerard Mulot bien sur!
They're awfully cute and would make perfect still life objet to paint!
Research!
Look at this sweet lill' set from Fauchon!
They always take the moderne geometric approach.
And don't forget the real minis at the mini boutique on Ile St.Louis!
Marie-Noelle send me this announcement of an upcoming miniature show in Paris...sigh on the 20th of Janvier...
And she also sent me this catalog page from PAIN d'EPICE in Paris.
Minis up the whazoo...have you had enough yet?

Velvety Chocolatey...

Yesterday I thought there was going to be a mini-tragedy!
I opened my mini-box of Pierre Herme chocolates and found it empty!
I lost the mini-chocolates from dragging it around showing it off...
Then the postwoman/person showed up with the 2nd order and saved my life :)
LOOK!
A mini chocolate map is even included!
Your comments have been influencing me something terrible.
Joan said: Oh la la, a steaming bowl of hot chocolate with croissants - the best way to start the day. I had to have a SECOND cup of hot chocolate!
Something I NEVER do!!!
And Cakespy said: Le chocolat YUM! Thank you for the delicious and velvety chocolatey post!
And I went searching everywhere for a little bit of chocolate - but the cupboard was bare! So I went out to Trader Joe's and got a Valrhona 56% bar = and SAVED THE DAY!
I started looking at those pictures I took at the Pierre Herme shop pre-opening...
OH LORDIE!
Sadly I never bought one of these boxes of PH signature chocolates.
I know I can't trust myself around such dangerous goodies...Ahem
Pierre Herme reccommends you drink thé de Chine noir (Ceylan), café, chocolat chaud et eau with his chocolates.
I did try the Carrément Chocolat.
The interior is Chocolat noir, gelé de chocolat et croustilland de chocolat.
Purely for research and still life purposes of course.
And as a shining example of Pastry Geometrie!
We must never forget the almighty cacao bean from whence all these divine goodies spring!
I saw this T-shirt at the NY Chocolate show...
It says it all :)

Mini Chocolat Chaud

More minis!
Fasten your mini-seat belts!
Are you fed up with all this mini nonsense?
Oui or NON?
mini cafe Yesterday doudy said: In France you'll find many mini things -
One of them is cafés with mini tables, and mini chairs :)
(With NO mini smoke these days I might add...)
And
Ann (MobayDP) said: Well Carol, I suppose the only sensible thing left for you to do is to find a mini-Carol to sit in her mini-cafe on her mini-chairs sipping her mini-Pierre Herme hot chocolate in her mini-cups as she nibbles on her mini macarons!
Pierre Herme Bernadaud chocolate set So how could I resist painting Pierre Herme's mini Chocolat Chaud powder...?
This is the special Bernadaud chocolate set Ms Longears was referring to...
And the cups even have fancy, shmancy gold handles...Ahem
Here's a vintage brass chocolatier in Denise Acabo's chocolate shop window.
The REAL thing!
And she has this vintage chocolate poster too...
Meanwhile in L'Epicerie I saw this liquid in a bottle hot chocolate!
HMPH!
Though I really shouldn't judge since I didn't taste it...next trip
The tradional hot chocolate powder is what I go for and there are plenty of these to try in France.
PLENTY!
A chocolate cafe on boulevard Beaumarchaise awaits you...
And here's the chocolate ardoise/menu to peruse...
Please take a mini-chair.
You mini-hot chocolate is coming right up!

Mini Bla Bla Bla

New Pylones Piu-Piu in the house Announcement:
NEW BIRD IN THE HOUSE!
This is Piu-Piu #1 from Pylones in Paris and acquired in 2006
And this is Piu-Piu #2
Bought to keep #1 company.
The New love birdsAnd let me tell you these birds are inseperable!
Of course it's true that these birds just happen to be magnetic...Ahem
Their main job is to collect metal paperclips =
They are "working birds"!
But these little guys are awfully fond of having tea with Pierre Herme desserts.
In fact they've become regular slackers and refuse to mess with paperclips at all!
Oh well what can you do?
New mini tea setSo what's up with all this interest in mini this and mini that?
Mini teasets and mini birds and mini desserts?
Hmmm...
Provencal mini treasuresI'm trying to figure that out myself.
Did the attraction start in Provence or buying the 1st mini Eiffel Tower on a Paris street corner..?
L'Ile Flotantte on the Ile Saint-Louis Or at the petite boutique, L'Ile Flotantte on the Ile Saint-Louis.
I found myself taking pictures of mini nonsense everywhere...
This toy store on rue Cassette was loaded china sets even in the window.
*Note the drunken pig at the table...
I meant to go back and buy one.
I think with all the tough things going on in the real world, taking refuge in a mini perfect one seems like a pleasent escape at the moment...
Look!
I spotted these mini fried eggs in my local 24-hour store in the Marais...
Awfully silly and awfully sweet.
Well they are candy after all...

More Mini Madness

Pierre Herme Mini Desserts #125 The MAISON PIERRE HERME DESSERTS MINI COLLECTION! has caused quite a stir in blogosphere!
Jeanette, Mistress of Longears B&B left a comment on friday:
Scale is ALL!
You must immediatement search out a smaller doll's teaset!
Perhaps the Bernadaud I saw in your photos...nothing but the best for our petite princesse!
And I found one!
Granted it was in the 99 Cents store which I RARELY visit...Ahem
Mini Ispahan #124LoveItaly never misses a trick!
A new piu-piu birdie??
Cutiepatootie!
It's true I added another Piu-Piu to my collection last time in Paris...
MINI DESSERTS #124Janice C. Cartier said: I think the little bird is saying, " Nibbles for me, oh boy." :)
And WendyB said: How cute! I always love it when the birds make an appearance.
Cris in Oregon said: Love them on the silver Tray.
Now you can buy faux Macarons & I can't even find real ones to taste.
DavidLebovitz.com said: I love those Hermé desserts, the mini ones.
I wish they sold them here...
Di Overton said: Only you could manage to find these.
Not true -
Anita of Desserts First said:OMG we totally think alike! I just found out about these too! Did you get the complete set?
I am eagerly waiting for mine to arrive in the mail!!!
All Things Bright and Beautiful...said: Dear PB, Many good things come out of Hong Kong!
Tartelette said: OMG! I wonder if mom could score me some before she comes?
Oh hell, she HAS to!!
Of course, it's all very well pointing the finger at others and accusing them of silliness...
I'm the one struck down the hardest with this mini-madness.
Another set is coming from Angolz.com = Mini-greediness :)
Stay tuned.

Pierre Herme Mini Madness

New Piu Piu #123 You only had to wait 24 hours for the "surprise". I had to wait 2 weeks...
For the:
NEW - WONDERFUL MAISON PIERRE HERME DESSERTS MINI COLLECTION!
I spotted on Flickr a wonderful photo by ICY NERD of these sweet little dollhouse Pierre Herme desserts and of course I HAD TO HAVE THEM!
I went madly searching all over the web and ended up in Hong Kong!
The new set is made by MegaHouse in Japan...
#121 Yellow Bird inspects PH chocolatesI couldn't really be sure what size the miniatures were?
Would they go nicely with my dollhouse tea set? ? ?
Hmmmm...
After careful comparative analysis I have to admit that NO, they are much smaller than my dollhouse tea set. This "real" package of Pierre Herme hot chocolate powder is
4 1/4" tall versus the miniature is just 3/4" high...Ahem
Oh well..on verra bien as the French say.
It will all turn out well hopefully...
This is Pierre Herme's Fall catalogue.
Sized 5 3/4" wide by 8 1/4" tall...

The tiny life-like PH sac is 2" x 2"
You get the picture?
Christine Ferbier mini-confiture LOOK!
Even one teeny, tiny jar of Christine Ferbier jam made for Pierre Herme is included. You tell me what the flavour is.
My magnifying glass isn't strong enough.
I think I need a microscope here!
Maison Pierre Herme Desserts Mini Collection You can order your set of 8 boxes of heavenly Maison Pierre Herme Desserts Mini Collection from Angolz.com in Hong Kong and you'll get it in about a week! Plus Pierre Herme is having a contest/lottery for 8 free sets if you sign on before January 18!
At least all the desserts fit nicely on my dollhouse silver tray...
And look at it this way-
What better way to curb your appetite after the Holiday excess with these non-caloric miniatures?

At a snail's pace...

I'm not ready 2 get up and running fully...Ahem
But something came in the mail yesterday...
And tomorrow...
I'll be up and running...
FULL SPEED AHEAD!
Surprise coming!
Stay tuned!!!

NOT READY!

I am so not ready to start practicing restraint!
I am not ready for the Holidays to be over...

I AM NOT READY!

I am not ready to start swimming for 1 hour every day instead of the 20 - 30 minutes 2 - 3 days a week I do now. Even with a swimming buddy waiting for me at the pool..like right this minute!
I'M NOT READY!

Did you see the big article in the NEW YORK TIMES yesterday on getting rid of your clutter?

I read all 55 comments in the forum and there are more this morning...

I know I need to sign up for Alison's organizing class...but I'm NOT READY!
Luckily I have till Jan 9 so I can procrastinate a bit :)
I am not ready to get a new computer either...though this one runs slow as molasses - it's only 256 megabites! OUCH
Pass the medication please...I mean the Champagne.

I'll think about all this tomorrow...meanwhile I better run to the pool!
I'M COMING!
