Bergdorf's Falling In Love Again...

Several of New York Bergdorf Goodman's Xmas windows are an homage to Marlene Dietrich and all the sultry chanteuses of the world IMO. They don't spell it out but..

Just look at these glamour pusses..

And listen to Marlene sing Falling in Love Again while you look...

Falling in love again, never wanted to

What am I to do, I can't help it

Love's always been my game, play it how I may

I was made that way, I can't help it

Men cluster to me like moths around a flame

And if their wings burn I know I'm not to blame

Falling in love again, never wanted to

What am I to do I can't help it...

That last one in the window looked like it was posed like Dietrich in the "Blue Angel..."

Thanks for sharing the NYC holiday photos. Just beautiful - those windows would be fun to sketch. And your paintings are such a treat, too.

  11. This song reminds me of a bar in Paris where you travel down a spiral staircase below ground.....to hear a singer in a smoke filled room..the sound and smell of wine... the lights on the bridges glow soft yellow......and my friend checks the heel of her shoe, and the line of her stocking... she dresses that way....

What am I to do???.. ;o)
