Summer In The City

 Summertime has hit Paris enfin.

 Where ever you look

 Summer is suddenly ever present.

Anne Maisonneuve has FAB summery earrings. I bought the new tapestry tassle earring she was wearing. It's not just T-shirts you know.

Pots of delicious sorbet fill Arnaud Larhrer's vitrine. How is it every single patisserie and boulangerie in Paris is selling ice cream in one form or another? This is why I HAVE to move to Paris.

Raimo, one of Paris' oldest glaciers, serving up cornets since 1947.

Naturallement I had to taste their pistache.

That's what happens summertime in the city.

Nearby pistache sandals..a better option perhaps?

Will she eat a savory herbaceous quiche from Pain du Sucre?

Me, I'd like to take a bath in frozen 'bio' framboise from Picard to cool off...

A French girl iPading in a cafe on Sunday...

Another French girl heads off to Paris Plage in just a sarong and brief top, naturallement tout en bleu.
French Girls are not only impeccable.
They know how to hold onto their ice cream cones...

Is that a STARBUCKS I spy on French girl's cafe table? Quelle horreur!
Did you throw your cone onto the pavement for the sake of your art?
Care to share any tips from Veronique?

But what a good idea! Why didn't I think of it...?
Yes, I will be doing a post on my make-over session with Fr Girl makeup artist, Veronique very soon.
Loads of tips in store!!

Carol, these Parisian summer scenes are very, very tempting! Yesterday, I saw additional recent Paris photos taken by a friend who's recently returned.

Meanwhile, perhaps I will find a pistachio gelato somewhere today before the afternoon thunderstorms descend upon us!

I love that vintage opening photo.
After that one, the colors of summer all look great - very nice selection and editing.

Summertime in Rockland, & Owl's Head (during David D workshop) is, apparently, way cooler than Paris. Dans le Maine, nous n'avons pas de cannicule. But: Paris is amazing n'importe quelle saison! That little person in your photo looks like a little old man, et il est adorable in a bizarre sort of way. You were mentioned again today. Some one who knows you said, affectionately, that you are "kooky".

Does the ice cream in Paris actually taste better or does it just seem that way because's PARIS!!!

Parisbreakfasts said...

very perceptive question.
There is a lot of it for one.
And each pastry maison makes their own, trying to out do the others so the quality is very high.
More importantly, most if it is not industrial but made artesanal in small batches.
The only place comparable in New York is the 10th Street Ice Cream shop.
Taste their Black Sesame = to-die-for
Ice cream seems to be an essential part of life here and much innovation is brought to it, especially in the sorbet area - trying to achieve real fruit flavors is the challange.
Thanks for adking.
Clearly I need to do more research.

Beautiful post Carol. I loved all your photos, I always feel like I'm walking around Paris with you when I read your lovely posts. I did my own summer in Paris/icecream post today, I thought you might like to see it.
