Our last day in Paris was drizzly, overcast. Sunday, so no one was out which is always nice :) BEAR decided we must do a last quick run to Champs-Elysees. L'Arc de Triomphe. Crazy Parisian runners in the rain. Last Parisien dog and a big one!
Easter bears in a window.
Inside a not so dreamy 30-minute wait
For gooey pastries.
We waited 30 min only so BEAR could take a last Metro ride in a pastry bag.
BEAR suggested we take AirFrance Bus to Charles de Gaulle Airport since it's faster then the RoisseyBus especially if you go on Sunday morning.
We got there in 20 minutes with loads of time to browse duty-free.
"I was in Hermes" something or other...LOLOL!!! I would be right there with you! Those Hediard boxes are amazing too! Great post and looks like it was a great trip.
.. sniff sniff ... well, time to plan for next trip ... I MUST tell you how much I listen to those Ines little RV snippets that you had on your post one day (ordered the book of course) but just today I played a few, and they put you in such a darn good mood. Thanks so much, Carol ... you are a gem.
So many great photos! That opening shot is perfect! After the shots of the grey, drizzly day, the pastries really look so colorful and delicious! Glad that you and Bear are back!
Bear is ever so sweet sitting in that pretty green Laduree bag with his elegant pink bow ~ But yes I know the feeling, some-times it's nice to be home.
That last day, those last hours in a faraway place are so precious. I always felt so reluctant to leave a place I loved visiting and just wanted to absorb a bit more to take home with me.
I'm looking forward to hearing more about your trip. xo
I can completely relate to that bitter-sweet scurry around a city..knowing that you have to leave soon. Well it looks like you had a fun time, and bear did too, and we're glad to read that you're back home safely. As always, those laudrée treats look tempting and I think I would have probably waited the 30 minutes for one of those dreamy creations ;)
Wow that went extremely quickly! I am off to Paris in just under 7 weeks and if you want to know the hours minutes and seconds I can tell you that too. Looking forward to more of your posts. I have missed you and them. X
Beautiful pics. Do you like Harriet Welty Rochefort's books (French Toast and French Fried)? You can google her. An American married to a Frenchman, and tells about her life. So wonderful!
how sad to leave paris! I can't beleive it the Laduree bear could be borromini! http://www.flickr.com/photos/borrominibear/3650620654/in/set-72157618436315785
Welcome home!!! I enjoy reading all your stories and watching your great pictures, I was in Paris 5 years ago, and I haven't forgot a minute of it, and you really have refresh those memories, Thank you girl!!!
I paint Paris dreams and mail 📮 them ❤️ wherever you are 🌎 Receive an illustrated letter 💌 every month from Paris, France 🇫🇷 Hi, I’m Carol Gillott, watercolorist ex-NYer living on Ile St-Louis in a 20 meter chambre de bonne sending out Illustrated letters monthly from Paris. A travel artist, travel blogger, writer, watercolorist, photographer, I share my personal travels experiences so you can travel vicariously through my sketches and words.
Describe what you love about France in 3 words. Can we make it 5 words? Eyes, ears, nose, tastebuds + brain. Paris stimulates all my senses constantly. I’m inspired all the time – endlessly surprised and amused. New York doesn’t do it for me anymore…

It was so great to see you in Paris. Next time, please bring Bear to Le Sélect. I was kinda sad he wasn't there. He's a STAR!!

Bear didn't join when we met (making a siesta I suppose), but I'm happy to see that you both enjoyed to the very last minute! :-)

Welcome back to you and Bear! What a lovely last day in Paris - even Paris in the rain is better than still snow on the ground in Minnesota.
Sounds like you had a gorgeous trip, Carol. Looking forward to hear more about it!
(P.S. I've been techy while you were gone - check out my new photos and videos!)
