Yesterday was BRAZIL DAY 2010 in New York.
The streets were filled with dancing.
Especially 46th street.
You HAVE to wear green and yellow on Brazil Day ya know...
Brasilieras are some of the most naturally beautiful people on the planet tudo bom!
Bodaciousness comes naturale...
Hair?
Lots of hair...
The streets were filled with dancing.
Especially 46th street.
I doubt it.
Get ready for carnevale now even if it is in February!
I shoulda bought this tank top...
And this sarong - only $20 bucks...
Havianas...
I did buy something to eat...
I bought this...
What is it?
I did not buy this!
I did not buy any Baiana vatapa -a dish from Bahia made from bread, shrimp, coconut milk, finely ground peanuts and palm oil mashed into a creamy paste.
Hi Carol, sorry that I missed you this summer. We have been in NY but are now leaving to go back to Paris Thursday.

My early work was inspired by
Carmen Miranda--and I was on stage one year for Brazil Day on
West 46 Street!

Abraços,

This makes me feel like booking a flight out to Brazil! Such fun, Braziliens seem like the coolest party people.
ReplyDeleteooowwww.....
ReplyDeletehow cool is this celebration!
:-)
well
truthfully
i enjoy most parties
that include
any sort of Fried Bread Snacks....
Carol, you made me so jealous!
ReplyDeleteI saw the ads for this party but I am too far away from NY. So sad!
It looks like a fun event to walk around, see the people, enjoy the wonderful food and dance.
Did you find any Brazilian there to flirt with? Hope so! They are very warm!
Thanks for sharing a bit of my country with the world.
Well, that is one hot post, Carol!
ReplyDeleteWould have loved the tank-top and the sarong and wished for the food lines to be shorter too!
Those dachshunds are so sweet - bet, they felt safer in that buggy than walking around, being Samba-ed on.

Brazil ! My contry !
ReplyDeleteThis looks like so much fun! And once again, I'm going to have to raid the refrigerator.
ReplyDeleteI would have liked to have gone to that!
ReplyDeleteCoincidence! My dentist was there yesterday ( and thank heaven back today to treat my dental emergency) for Brazil day and we swapped stories about Puerto Rican day and Brazil day in NY. I think the pain meds may b interfering with my communication skills.
ReplyDeleteCarolG:
ReplyDeleteYour photo's made me feel like I was there with you, at one point you had such a perfect close shot of the food, if this was virtual media, we could have taken a bite.
The weather looked nice and hot. Sweet dogs in the carriage, nice thoughtful owner. Can you image the little paws on the hot New York streets, that you can fry an egg on--Ouch!
cheers,
Joanny
Nice photos.
ReplyDeleteBrasileiras, not brasilieras...
I would love to go there just for the food! :) Great post!
