I went out to see the Polar bears yesterday....

Up on Madison Avenue and 94th street...

Well I had to go...
Because Bill Cunningham in his Sunday Times story on the streets of New York said everyone was wearing winter whites!

So I could report back to y'all?
And as synchronicity would have it, don't you know PBS Nature Series last night featured Artic POLAR BEARS!!!

Huggable! (Well toy ones anyway)
Absolutely delighted to have been pointed to your blog - what a veritable patissiere of delight!
Absolutely fabulous!
Yes, indeed. We all need to get behind the struggle to save the Polar Bears!

We are loosing a lot of bears Carol because the antarctic is melting and they need it cold and icy.
We had a super tv program last week about them and they were putting them in crates and air lifting them hundreds of miles away. They must be shocked when there let out as they not were they had been as they stay the same place since birth and just wander of to get food so imagine your horror when your house has gone and your local shop gone bust,

Reminds me of Rosie, a retired circus bear at the zoo when I was a child.
Happy memory!

Carol, these are wonderful paintings. It is sad to see what is happening to these beauties. Love the post. Also love the adorable little girls in white.
I love the bear eating a palmier! It's so cute!
SAVE the Polar bears, dear President. Love the bears.:-)
So basically, lady polar bears can't blame any extra weight gain on pregnancy. Good to know.
Lovely polar bears and palmiers, Carol! I have been sick as a dog all last night and all day today so they are a treat. Beautiful.
I once saw a special on polar bears....did you know that when they hunt, they crouch down and COVER their black noses with their paws...all the better to blend in with the snow - like a little drift of snow until they pounce!
These bears are adorable! They remind me of characters from a childrens book called the Seekers.

Absolutely adorable.....
The way you managed to convince the Polar bears to go for French pastries is admirable! :-)
Did you know that
1) I found a Polar bear with wings in a music shop? I guess they need the wings to make it quickly out of town once the big thaw comes around;
2) the Viennese Schรถnbrunn Zoo has Polar bears? No wings, though. Not yet. ;-)
Happy Inauguration Day!
(Jeez, my first inauguration far away from DC, I wished I was there!)
I love the mama and baby polar bears and the Linda Horn link! Oh...and the Paris Metro poster and the bear resting on the books.
You New Yorkers have everything and now Polar Bears. Love your paintings!
