There were plenty of macarons at the Paris Salon du Chocolat and I painted many more in my hotel room. We won't discuss how many I ate...
Chocolate was there for sure, but all flavors were represented. I bought a bag of 10 and forgot to protect them from the chocolate bars and boxes in my bag opening night. When I got home I had 1 big mushed mac :) This HUGE book was for sale at the Paris choco salon - showing macs bigger than your head! Called, Un Amour de Macaron. Everyone LOVESmacarons. I spotted this postcard on a Paris street. It made me think of macarons... Macs on the mind ! The macaron colors can be so pretty not to mention the flavors... At the NY Chocolate Show, Mad Mac NYC was happy to provide us with plenty of macarons. This is my Paris hotel bed/worktable. I more or less slept on the floor so the paintings could dry. I have lots more ParisBreakfasts watercolors to show you!

The macarons look delicious too but I'm so glad your showing us yr yummy watercolors again. I can't wait to see the others on the bed.
I thought macaroons had coconut but these don't look like that...are they different? Kind of like baked meringue? Love your work and your blog...thanks!!!
Carol, Macaroons are my faverote yum. The hotel paintings look great and I cant wait to see more. This is so exciting. While you were in paris did you run into any art supplies that were interesting? Have a good one cant wait for the other posts to come. Linda
your blog takes my breath away. just seeing your art amidst paris and chocolate leaves me in awe as i take in all the colors and flavors.
coming from the suburbs off san francisco, i visit your blog for a peek into the whimsical, sophisticated, and delicious cosmopolitan shot-in-the-arm we all need once in a while.
Beautiful paintings. Technical question: Do you photograph your still lifes and then paint them or are you painting them directly from life. I spy a photo up in one corner of the bed. Seems like a photo would be a great help in capturing light, etc.
Beautiful work. Now I need to find come of those lovely cookies......
Macarons in France are like a delicious homemade chocolate chip cookie - pure pleasure! Just no chips and no flour... I like rose and pistacho the best. And you are macaron Queen?
I am speechless...thankfully, my fingers are still working to type. I am experiencing a sensory overload just looking at the photographs and reading your words. I see the other comments calling for more of your own art...but I don't know if I could have stood more. I look forward to coming back.
I just discovered macaroons on my last visit to Paris...so many years wasted! But now I know...
So I've begun this day with excessiveness...macarons and chocolate. Still there is more to try as today Le Beaujolais Nouveau Est Arrivé! At least with you, I've only overindulged visually. May the rest of the day continue in a similar vein...
Your blog is recommended and that's why I got the link:-).
I love Paris and your watercolors are gorgeous. I've heard so much about macarons, but I haven't got a chance to try them in person. The photos are just beautiful...Thank you for sharing!
I discovered macaroons a few months ago. There is a chocolatier in Geneva that makes THE best chocolate macaroons. I fell in love immediately and I've tried others but nothing like the taste and texture of these ones. I must got to Paris and do some further extensive research...!
Ode To The Brown Bean: Bean de Cocao, delights within, waiting beneath your Sienna skin. Those who know, who have the skill coax from you the chocolaty thrill. I for one, have had my fill. For now.
I finally got my hand on some macs to try. I have to say that these little things look just beautiful...Taste very interesting too. The only drawback is that they are pretty expensive:-).
I paint Paris dreams and mail 📮 them ❤️ wherever you are 🌎 Receive an illustrated letter 💌 every month from Paris, France 🇫🇷 Hi, I’m Carol Gillott, watercolorist ex-NYer living on Ile St-Louis in a 20 meter chambre de bonne sending out Illustrated letters monthly from Paris. A travel artist, travel blogger, writer, watercolorist, photographer, I share my personal travels experiences so you can travel vicariously through my sketches and words.
Describe what you love about France in 3 words. Can we make it 5 words? Eyes, ears, nose, tastebuds + brain. Paris stimulates all my senses constantly. I’m inspired all the time – endlessly surprised and amused. New York doesn’t do it for me anymore…

The coconut macaroons are a different kind of cookie than the macarons....
I've seen macarons everywhere online lately...and I'm dying to try one.

And you are macaron Queen?
Clearly, I will have to focus on your watercolours and avoid looking at the other yummies here. I just had a severe sugar urge.
Thanks for the glimpse of the glass teapot.
I really wouldn't mind sleeping on the floor for some of these paintings :-)
Am I the only one who hasn't had a macaroon? That's it, when I'm Paris I'm definitely gonna try some.
Carol:- really looking forward to seeing more of the water colours.
Wanderlust:- yes you should!( even just one) ;o)
I recently went on a macaron spree in Tokyo, it was fun and delicious. Your painting was pretty.
Come and look at my travel photos of the Boulanger Patisserie in Versailles.
