I forgot to eat my daily full-proof winter elixir - pomegranate seeds.
I did make it to la Poste Friday & Saturday with all your Paris letters 💌
B. From Massachusetts is in town & is praying for snow ❄️ B. was the model for a snowy Eiffel Tower so I don’t blame her, but I’m saying nothing. Snow is not one of Paris’ strong points.
Fortunately I made it over to BON MARCHÉ
Before my cold hit full stop.Où est Charlie?
Appears to be one prevailing theme this year.
In their gift shop department old-fashioned Cookies are IN.
The day I went.
Everyone tries to lose weight for Paris, when they should be practicing deep knee bends to read labels & museum placards.
They were giving out yummy Bordeaux Canelé samples in Grand Epicerie.
The beautiful produce was appropriately color co-ordinated for Noël.
There were cute animals
But Bon Marché picked this odd-looking red bear 🐻 to adorn their catalog
And all their windows this year. The lights are always very nice, but not a very cosy bear 🐻
Honestly the Christmas windows in New York are far superior to these. Someone was not paying attention imo. I should be back window judging by Tuesday latest. ‘Once more unto the breach!’
My BLACK FRIDAY PARIS Letter SALE on etsy continues through the end of the year.
Thank you R.,”The Paris letter-a-month is such a beautiful and artistic gift idea.”
Feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteHope you are on the mend. Your letter is awesome. I have the one with the two people sitting on the bench looking at the Tour Eiffel while it snows. It is up on my bulletin board now. I like Bon Marche, seems easier to navigate. How about those two young girls twinning in their furry jackets! 🗼❤️🎄
ReplyDeleteThose 2 girls were twinning through and through
DeleteI'm so sorry you've been feeling poorly but glad it isn't Covid. Glad you made it to Le Bon Marche (sigh) and will look forward to the windows!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie,
DeleteFor once I wish I was in New York…
Take care ! Knowing you..you are already up and at em:) Bear..your Bear would have been far cuter than theirs.I do love a cannelé..True lol lots of twinning!
ReplyDeleteHave you baked Canelé M? It seems like the kind of complicated thing you would make…
DeleteWell, if it’s going to be cold…and it is COLD!…we may as well have some pretty snow! Besides, it doesn’t stick around for long. Two days it has been in the forecast, but nada. ☃️
ReplyDeleteLove your new chocolate letter! Feel better, start eating those pomegranate seeds!
Thanks, once the cold is embedded the pomegranate can’t help much.
DeleteMy weather report does not even hint of snow ❄️
Dream on girl ☺️
That red bear looks like he has rickets 😱
ReplyDeleteI know!
DeleteWhat a sicko Bear 🐻
Hope you feel better soon, Carol - colds are no fun at all. Also, hope Bear doesn't get it or does he go into hibernation?
ReplyDeleteHaHaHa Thanks for the big laugh of the day 🐻
DeleteBear is dressed in cashmere year-round so doesn’t have to worry.
Take care! Hope you're feeling better soon. Looks like slightly warmer temps for us next week, but lots of rain. Going out tomorrow to find pomegranates! I was severely disappointed by the Christmas windows at Bon Marche this year too! Just a weird theme and that red bear in the advertisements is pathetic. Place Vendome/Saint Honore/Rue Cambon area offer pretty holiday strolls this year.
ReplyDeleteOh thanks fo confirming MimiC on Bon Marché’s sad windows - they felt thrown together. Someone dropped the ball.
DeletePlace Vendôme will definitely be better. Just the thought makes me feel better!
Dear Carol, Just bought the lovely card with cats and couple sitting on a bench watching the Eiffel Tower on a snowy day. Looking forward to receiving it. Hope you've the cold symptoms gone already. Send you all my love.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Maribel
DeleteVery kind ❤️
Your letter will go out tomorrow
Please recover real fast! Not fun to be down and out this time of year when there is so much to do!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary Lou so much
DeleteI know…so much going on out there
So cold 🥶 out there too in Paris
Love, love, love your newsletters! Hope you shake that cold soon! L
ReplyDeleteI didn’t know pomegranates were good for colds.
ReplyDeleteI stood at the sink for 4 hours plucking the seeds out of their skin. I also buy 10 lbs at grocery store in the freezer. I mix them with the ones I did. My freezer is full of them. LYNNE C
I love the last picture of birds and autumn leaves, very calming in this bustling season.
ReplyDeleteThank you ❤️ it is impossible to shoot pigeons. They don’t stand still!
DeleteIt's SO not fun being under the weather!!Emoji Be well soon, Carol!!
ReplyDeletethank you so much for ALL the enjoyment you have provided over the years!
ReplyDeletewishing you a good Monday and a happy holiday season! B
It's almost like being there. Keep well but keep us posted. You bring so much joy to us all back in the states.
ReplyDeleteThank you Peggy ❤️
DeleteI will never understand pomegranates. The payoff wasn't worth the labor intensive work to me, but people rave, so I’m sure that I was doing something wrong. Maybe mine was under ripe, or off season, or spoiled? I want to like them! And just maybe the seeds would help my bug, which sounds just like yours, too, Carol (and it lasts FOREVER). This week a lot of Sneezing has been added. I hope you're over yours faster than me. Get well!
ReplyDeleteThe pomegranate seeds should be deep red and not bruised or old.
DeleteIt works best as a preventive (1-2Tbl a day).
Once you have a cold the seeds are not effective unfortunately.
Carol, what joy you give to our world! A.
ReplyDeleteI just saw this on a Face Book Italian group that I am part of and thought you might be interested in it. 📷

DeleteI wonder if they have an age limit?
