Update

The Houston Museum of Natuural History courtesy of the Houston Museum of Natural History
'Update' doesn't seem like the right word...
Is 'downdate' a word?
I'm stuck here like a pinned bug waiting to hear on Monday's x-rays, hopefully by Thursday...
Waiting to hear anything at all.
Bonjour PBers

  2. are you feeling a bit "pinned down"? Just bide your time and , with a little therapy, you will be flying again!

  3. Wishing you the best results there can be.

  4. THANKS for your kind thoughts.

Getting 'a little therepy' is not so easy...
It's a waiting game for appointments for more appointments, often a month off.
    It makes no sense.
I will NEVER miss going to the pool AGAIN!
If I ever get unstuck and vertical again that is...

  5. Therapy is an amazing thing; once you get the diagnosis, and learn your body's needs, then you can give it the good stuff, exercises to make you limber and strong again.

IT WILL HAPPEN and you'll participate in making it so. Meanwhile, prayers and wishes from a whole lot of us ---

  7. I hope you get very good news, Carol! Keep us posted. When I first saw your images here, I immediately thought of a professor friend who has MILLIONS of insects meticulously pinned to boards in long drawers like what artists use to store their paintings. It's an amazing collection--he's done this for about 40 years!

I hope YOU, however, are up and flying about very soon. xoxo

  8. Carol, So sorry you're feeling so powerless. The health care system is a pain in the ass. Hope you get your answers soon and I'll be rooting for you to hear something positive, soon. XO Claudia

  9. I hear you on the appointments being a month away. It took me forever to get a Doctor to see me for my operation. You could die before they get to you sometimes. arrgh! Hope you are up and about soon. I have a great chiropractor you should see. I couldnt live without a good one. A family Friend went the massage way and got over his sciatica pain. My Dad did Accupuncture it worked for him where the chiro didnt.. All for sciatica pain where they couldnt walk. Lots of options. Hoping you hear something soon.

  10. Well dear Carol,
If I were there with you I would use my (up 'til now very secret) SUPER POWERS to (very gently) rip those pins out and once again release you,
whole, healthy and hearty, into the world.
But...'til then, hang in there, and all the other well-wishing cliches.
In fact, one of my favorites is:
"When you're half way through the dark forest...you're on your way OUT." Your wings will soon be fluttering again.

  11. Totally unfair! Ozzie wants to put his head on your lap and stare soulfully into your eyes till you feel better. It always works!

  12. Wishing you a speedy recovery... Listen to your body. It will know when you are ready to fly

Advice is great but I cannot follow this myself... I'm sure that Bear is there with you and commiserating with your frustrations...

  13. Another benefit of limping? Your neighbors will take pity on you and do your shoveling / snow blowing for you!

Seriously, I do hope you're feeling better soon.

  15. If you're bored and have your laptop, maybe it's time for Hulu and browsing other blogs? Other than PB I love yesandyes.org and notthatkindofgirl.net. Good luck on a quick recovery and getting unpinned.

My heart is with you and I hope you get back on your feet soon. Those picture really show your pain, insect and pins ouch.

Tired of the snow so to cheer me up I bought one of your watercolors ( Paris macarons ribbons ) I've been looking at it for a while. It's going to bring your joie de vivre and talent in my house. Take time to care for yourself it is important. A bientot

  21. Rose(woof woof) and I hear that you’ve been under the weather. L Sending you get well wishes, and hoping you’ll be back to your old self real soon!

Rose says that recuperating is not much fun, but her little hip bone has healed well, and she is now up and about now.

    Best regards,
    Vickie

  22. I'm sorry to hear that you are laid up for awhile. I know that you must be frustrated.
I hope that the therapy somehow speeds up and you are back out taking pics and blogging like before!
I do wish you the best!!!!

  23. Carol, like all those commenters who've got here before me, I also wish you a recovery that moves at a welcome speed.

We so look forward to your witty, artistic, lively, and au courant posts, that it is particularly distressing to find our PB specialist is under the weather.

Perhaps you can look at it this way, we have gotten through January in New York. February is a short month, so it cannot beat January for snow and other slow downs.

    xo

I'm am so sorry to hear you are laid up. Hope your recovery is quick.

I know this sounds selfish but I was really looking forward to some photos of all the valentine window displys and decorations in NYC right now. You take the best photos!

Maybe some of your loyal NYC readers can take photos for you to post on your blog...just a suggestion.??

Take care...spring will be here soon (according to the groundhog)

Oh Carol, blew a disc in my back and I know how painful it can be - considering the weather stay inside cozy and warm and don't hesitate to contact all those friends who say if you ever need anything just let me know...all my best...Cindy in Columbus, OH home of the ice storm and electricity losses, thank goodness we were saved!

  31. Carol, take your time and focus on your health right now. Of course, it is the most important thing. Sometimes our bodies just make sure we listen to THEM! I am glad you are doing that. Dealing with the health care system can be a real pain, so hang in there. Remember, this is YOUR health and sometimes you have to make sure the providers understand.

Take your time and do what you need to do for you! All of your readers will be here when you are ready.
