What fabulous and encouraging news of the sale of your charming Paris facades even B4 the opening of the Boston show! We "groupies" also delight in them as well. Have a great time in Boston at your opening. A good weekend as well. Stef in sunny Chicago
AHAAAAAA! Now I know where you are! Well, on the bus at this hour, perhaps. HAVE A GRAAAAAND OPENING & evening (and sales!) in Boston, Carol. Much deserved. wmt
Felicitations! On our your sales! Too bad about the bus....but you will either get a good story out of it or it will be wiped from your memory by a wonderful time in Boston.
Good luck Carol - have a great time! I hope that the place is mobbed. I can't make it for opening night, but who knows? Maybe I can get there soon. I hope that I can get there. Theater people say "break a leg" do painters have an expression?
I was there today and had a sneak peek - formidable! My girlfriend bought #21 on the spot for her anniversary with her husband. Hope to meet you tonight!
I had my first macaron the other day. A French child in my 4th grade class brought them in -- his mother made them. They were awesome! But what reminded me of your post was that he said, "Well, Maman makes lovely macarons, of course, but we all prefer Laduree. And you would too if you knew of them." And I thought, only a 4th grade Parisien boy would talk like that! And I also thought, I know I've heard of Laduree from somewhere. Where? AHA! Paris Breakfasts! Have fun in Boston and good luck with your work. Boston is one of my hometowns. Hope you enjoy it. Wonderful place. Bonnie
I want to come!!!! Even though I'm in San Jose, California, I appreciate being invited. I would TOTALLY be at your art show if I was on the east coast. I'm so glad folks are snatching up your paintings--marveilleuse! (it's been a while since French class...). :) Heather
How magnifique, Carol! Go you! I just want you to know, though, that I totally lost my mind this afternoon and attempted to make my own macarons. Lord have mercy, as we say in the south. How do they get the dang things so perfect??? You are to blame... You will also be to blame when I go to Paris with 14 eighth graders and we consume our weight in macarons. They are ready to be your research assistants.
Bonjour ! I’m Carol Gillott, a former NYer living on Île Saint-Louis in a 21 meter chambre de bonne. As a Paris blogger, travel writer, watercolorist, and photographer, I share my latest escapades so you can walk around the city vicariously in my shoes. To experience even more of the Parisian life, sign up to receive my beautifully Illustrated monthly letters where I paint the Paris your dreams and mail them
to you wherever you are. You can order these letters, along with my art prints, at my Etsy shop.
Describe what you love about France in 3 words. Can we make it 5 words? Eyes, ears, nose, tastebuds + brain. Paris stimulates all my senses constantly. I’m inspired all the time – endlessly surprised and amused. New York doesn’t do it for me anymore…
