Yesterday there were blue skies in Paris. And cobalt French blue was out in force. As well as mufflers, sweaters, gloves and even hats! BrrrrrrrrrrEven the wall decor in the Metro was carrying blue bags.
Don't we need a bit more complimentary colors? Say some "orange" tarts from Landemaine boulangerie on rue des Martyrs (pronounced roo day Mar-TEAR). Abricot, pomme, figue...MIAM!!!!Some
Nice blue post but today Paris is cloudy so you've now to find grey things. Not so difficult I think. Some "petite robe noire". Enjoy your day and be careful. Christian
Blue bleu blau true blue feelin' blue blue skies thinking deep blue out of the blue a bolt from the blue Once in a blue moon Talk until you are blue in the face Keep the blues away Go off into the blue Something happens out of the blue Blue Boy Blue Beard!
Stop it please!!! lol everytime I read your blog I get so sad I want to be back in Paris but this time...I want that Blue Bag! I am really starting to not like you...(lol just kidding) I need the cookbook the macaroons and this blue metalic bag! Any Marie Antoniette stuff around? Also will you go to Flea Markets??? Then I will really cry!! Seriously thank you for sharing! Grace
Blue is also my favorite color. Once I was giving a WC demo, and mixed French Ultra Marine with its' compliment, Burnt Sienna, into a granulated wash. One of the students told me, years later, it was one of the most sensual moments she'd had! LOVE your paintings, Carol, of those mixtures. Bill
All true blue?! Those might made you feel blue? Orange tarts will really do the trick. Thanks for sharing. They might be all blue but I love them all. By the way, I found a fantastic Paris adventure that might interest you too. Thanks and have a wonderful day!
Bonjour! Just recently found your blog and love your artwork, I'm heading to your Etsy store right now. Enjoyed you post on the Salon du Chocolat, I was there on Friday and tasted everything in sight. Enjoy the rest of your time in Paris!
Hi, I’m Carol Gillott, watercolorist-ex-NYer living on Ile St-Louis in a 21 meter chambre de bonne, sending out Illustrated letters monthly from Paris. I’m a travel artist, travel blogger, writer, watercolorist, photographer, I share my personal experiences so you can travel vicariously through my sketches and words. I paint Paris dreams (jam jars, macarons, cups of hot chocolate, peonies) and mail 📮 them ❤️ wherever you are 🌎 Receive an illustrated letter 💌 every month from Paris, France 🇫🇷
Describe what you love about France in 3 words. Can we make it 5 words? Eyes, ears, nose, tastebuds + brain. Paris stimulates all my senses constantly. I’m inspired all the time – endlessly surprised and amused. New York doesn’t do it for me anymore…
