OH NON! not more cupcakes! Please blame BEAR.
Being a Parisien, when he sees the words 'CUPCAKES GALLERY' he goes bananas. And Printemps is co-operating fully...With a BIG cupcake party in full swing... Downstairs -anyone who is anyone is munching away... These are just mini cupcakes + bagels svp. BEAR, a recent New Yorkaise, adore les bagels and is moaning, mais je dit,
"Non! Absolutement pas NON!" Eeeek - le prix!
C'est un peu tres CHER non!
A mini lunch box of 1 mini cupcake + 1 giant bagel with lox + 1 drink is 12 euros.

BEAR is lapping it up on his home turf...
I had to try at least 2 = a citron meringue + a speculas...
BEAR, being a true Parisien, insists we visit Cafe Pouchkine on the first floor at Printemps...
Bien sur, c'est plus elegant!
OMG!
Only looking this time BEAR.
Oh les gateaux c'est extraordinaire!
Very gorge indeed...
Jamais!
We must keep running.
Only a few days left in Paris!
It's thoughtful of Printemps to have something for everyone don't you think?

Not everyone is cupcakes crazy...hmmm
But if you are, Please sing along with SEVEN NATION ARMY
I'm gonna fight 'em all, ze CUPCAKES
A nation army couldn't hold me back from ze CUPCAKES!
They're gonna rip it off
Taking their CUPCAKE time right behind my back
And I'm talking to myself at night about ze CUPCAKES
Because I can't forget
Back and forth through my mind
Behind a cigarette
And the message coming from my eyes
Says leave it alone, ze CUPCAKES!

What a wonderful and delicious post!! Loved!!xx
ReplyDeleteSeveral years ago, I decided I was going to be the one to open an American bakery in Paris. Cupcakes, brownies, muffins, cookies... Ahhh- evidently I was ahead of my time and had no benefactor financing the venture. Still a lovely dream, n'est-ce pas?
ReplyDeleteMerci, Carol and Bear!
Hmmm...with Bear's proclivity to fall in love with so many things NOT French....is there any chance he was "made in China"?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it! The French make cupcakes look tres chic! Thanks for the ever so watchful eye Carol!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, those cupcakes are amazing! Bear has such good taste.
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting here eating my lunch of a turkey sandwich and apple. Somehow, not quite the same! Wish I was in Paris!!
Maybe they don't taste as good as the look? One can hope? Yum! Eat some cupcakes for me,Carol!
ReplyDeleteUh oh. My friends just urged me to check out Pouchkine. Looks like I'm in trouble now...
ReplyDeleteYou are right about Printemps; it's a great place to find everything you need! The Russian café is great and I have already tasted the macarons. However, ...PH is THE reference!
ReplyDeleteI forgot that Bear is a Parisian :)
ReplyDeleteI love the chocolates, and bagels, more than the cupcakes I think. Too much sugar!!
Great series of shots, Carol, have fun.......
I LOVE the BERKO video!
ReplyDeleteSo much fun being in Paris with you PB!!
What a contrast from Brooklyn cupcakes to Russian extravaganzas!?
ReplyDeleteParis IS amazing!!!
I am made in FRANCE Mme Jeannette!!

So funny to see this adoration of American everyday stuff like bagels and cupcakes...
ReplyDeleteIt just goes to show whatever is new is amusing no matter what it is I suppose.
Maybe New York cupcakes should rename themselves framboise and fraise for more cachet?
I just wrote a blog about not loving cupcakes but absolutely adoring french cakes. Now that the french are making cupcakes themselves, i really want to try because i'm willing to be persuaded otherwise re my dislike for cupcakes which i find boring, always too sweet and one-dimensional in flavor.
