Christmas day in Paris

Christmas day in Paris was foggy

What I ate for Christmas lunch
Except I got the bright idea to put the crevettes Shrimp 🍤 into some soupe de poisson I had on the shelf, which turned out to be a bad idea 👎 Their delicate flavors were completely submerged.
I’ve been browsing
Possible local büche de noël candidates.
The most appealing from LeNotre was too big & too €€€€
Change of scene!
Today I’m inside Galeries Lafayette.Their tree looks a lot better.
I’m loving this cobalt bleu Rolls Royce
Display from La Prairie,
Switzerland

And
More.
Dior has gone completely OTT inside Galeries Lafayette
With their Neptune 🐚 theme
I’m in the street crossing to Galeries Lafayette Gourmet - a girl with the longest red hair ever. Agreed?
Inside GLG, the first galette de rois. A perfect match for the redhead 👩‍🦰
The bears 🐻 are still in bed 🛌
More bear 🐻 eclairs from l’Éclair de Genie.
TAKE THE PICTURE!

Me
I broke down & got a favorite - chausson au pomme 🍎 from Philippe Conticini. I’ve been eye-balling this for weeks

Not going to attempt to even glance at the windows

Where is the photo of the discarded Christmas tree I saw earlier? I love that tree shape that says Paris to me and I want to file it away. Merci.

Carol, were the stores open on Christmas Day or were you just musing on past days as you experienced Christmas Day. I couldn't tell.. but enjoyed the journey~

The hordes may be queuing at Cedric Grolet but I’ll take Philippe Conticini any day. His work is never over the top; it’s always perfection. Hope you enjoyed that chausson. ❤️

Love all of your leopard print pics…fun! Bonnes fêtes, Carol. 😘

I love your pastry selection. All that blue reminds me of Yves Klein blue art that I saw at the Pompidou. I am just catching up on all your entries…been a little busy around here. Happy New Year!

  14. Hope you still had a nice day despite the fog!
The buche de Noël all look nice but a bit hard to get one for yourself, that’s why mince pies are great! Also we got a mini Christmas cake perfect for two people to eat over Christmas week. Not sure you have any of these in the US though and not in France either.
Glad you got a taste of an favourite pastry after all that looking!
All the best for NYE 🎉
