Marché des Cuisines du Monde, Bastille

Saturday I invited Julia to a new foodie event In my neck of the woods at Bastille.

You can’t miss Julia in her inimitable Marimekko/Uniglo puffer coat 🧥
Where it would be very easy to lose someone

Among the 55 purveyors

Of quite

Exotic foods.

Julia got something from the Benin 🇧🇯 seller. She has guests coming for dinner 🍽️ I watch.

I’m a timid taster 🥄 I have to admit,

Unless it’s ice cream 🍨

There was no ice cream 🍦 at the marchè…
I did spot a sign for coconut 🥥 ice cream (which I passionately love ❤️ and would cross oceans 🌊 in an open boat 🛶 to Madagascar for) at the fair.
I
guess it was too cold 🥶 to serve.
You can always find them fresh-churning it out at Salon de l’Agriculture. Have you tried? I don’t even like coconut! 🌴 As a kid, I was the one picking the coconut shreds out of the birthday cakes 🎂 🫣
Everything from the Canada 🇨🇦 table looked scrumptious, especially the donuts 🍩
I did find a cookie 🍪 at the French 🇫🇷 stand
Not exactly wildly adventurous you could say 🙄
I wish I’d tried the glossy Canelé…
Julia got Middle Eastern desserts for her guests.
Anyway it’s always fun to look. Saki anyone?
We both got divine Italian 🇮🇹 spinach ravioli
We ate Rumanian crêpes
I got an unadventurous roasted eggplant sandwich 🥪
Julia went home with her treasures
Later on I passed by the doors of Notre Dame.
My Notre Dames letter 💌 is finally in the poste 📮
