Samaritaine Paris, Ova Tea salon

Yesterday I took a brief break
To go up to Samaritaine Paris at Pont Neuf

To see their Xmas 🎄 decorations 🎉
They always do it up with plenty of sparkle ⭐️
This year features colorful luminous flowers 🌺
In Sichuan, China.
Samaritaine’s gift shop, Lou Lou
Has loads of affordable, fun gifts 🎁 like the essential baguette 🥖 tree 🌲 ornaments.

Go hug a Baguette 🥖 plush toy.
Baguettes 🥖 are IN I guess. This light fixture was stunning
So lifelike a customer gives it a test squeeze.
Speaking of squeezing, NPR said Plush toys 🧸 are the hot gift 🎁 for Christmas
Even plush bear 🐻 purses.
I would love ❤️ to indulge in a candle  from elegant Trudon.
A whimsical tableau of automated miniature wooden toys going for a small fortune.
I left Samaritaine dying of thirst. Italian Cova salon de thé seemed the nearest refuge.
I love ❤️ browsing here.
An easy shortcut
To Milano right at Pont Neuf.
I’m a fan of their creamy gelato 🍨 I knew I’d get a glass of water 💧 with it ☺️
Draw ✍️ your waiter on the placemat
And miracles happen..
A cup 🎁 of thick, dark hot chocolate 🍫 Yum
On the way home a quick look at Au Vieux Paris
Then back to hand-to-hand 🥊 combat

Samaritaine is such a mood boost over the holidays! Beautifully decorated and full of beautiful temptations. Lou Lou is a fun affordable shop for unique souvenirs. I took home some placemats last year that I treasure.

Love the sketch of your waiter. You captured him perfectly. Fabulous you were rewarded with a hot chocolate!

Joyeux Noel!! Samaritaine at Christmas. What could be better. Merci beaucoup. And the drawing-chocolate exchange is the kind of thing that might have happened to Toulouse Lautrec— Or Cezanne—Or Marie Laurencin. You are a true Paris artiste. Not rich but wonderfully talented.

Haha Actually there is more to it. The waiter wanted to take away the paper mat since I was not ordering lunch, only gelato. He saw my sketchbook and said, Ah..an artiste! I promised him a drawing if he gave me back the placemat! Et voila 👍

Looks wonderful! I have been in Paris in early January a few times (including my first-ever trip to Paris), but need to be there for "real" Christmas-time sometime! Thanks for the insider's view!

  9. Heavenly! Thank you for the gorgeous photos of Samaritaine and Cova.Who knew that a baguette could be a plush toy! Wish we could be there now, but we are coming in February and can't wait to sample the goodies at Cova. Your posts are inspirational for those of us who wish we could live in Paris.

In addition to the vicarious pleasure of revisiting Paris (coincidentally the setting for a story I'm currently working on), I adore your art. Lynne
