Love the watercolors, Carol, and the NY photos make me nostalgic, remembering all the wonderful store windows as a kid growing up there. I want a tree skirt like that.
Great photos Carol - great night shots. I especially like the "blue tree" & Bergdorf's croc! I have been to NYC at Christmas time and it is a visual delight (if you're not freezing :)
I love your photos of our fair city this time of the year. I went out with my camera a few weeks back before the super freeze set in.
So...if you or any of your readers want to see some more examples of New York in early December, I invite you all to stop by. (Don't you hope the temperature gets above freezing soon? xo
Lovely lights! I think the U.S. has one up on Paris when it comes to lights in trees.. Here in France, it's so haphazard with no real thought put into it.. Sorry to bag on it- but where I live, they're just put in trees and it looks really lame... haha!
Thanks for lighting up my day, Carol! My cats peed on my Christmas tree skirt and I got so mad that I lost all interest in decorating anything after that. I'm living the season through your gorgeous photos!
I paint Paris dreams and mail ๐ฎ them ❤️ wherever you are ๐ Receive an illustrated letter ๐ every month from Paris, France ๐ซ๐ท Hi, I’m Carol Gillott, watercolorist ex-NYer living on Ile St-Louis in a 20 meter chambre de bonne sending out Illustrated letters monthly from Paris. A travel artist, travel blogger, writer, watercolorist, photographer, I share my personal travels experiences so you can travel vicariously through my sketches and words.
Describe what you love about France in 3 words. Can we make it 5 words? Eyes, ears, nose, tastebuds + brain. Paris stimulates all my senses constantly. I’m inspired all the time – endlessly surprised and amused. New York doesn’t do it for me anymore…

Thank you so much for sharing these! I will try to take some more of Paris and share within the week. xo
Love the Xmas lights! I saw some lavender/light purple tree lights at Columbus Circle when I was there last month, very pretty.

thanks for sharing the Christmas magic here, especially your lovely watercolors
I love the Fendi facade! Amazing!
I love this post! I particularly like the girl looking at the necklace. A woman in waiting, and all the magic of lit vitrines in her eyes.
