Un Noël à New York 🎄 Printemps

On Friday, I ran to buy stamps (January letter is in the post!📮)

I passed by Printemps NOËL IN NEW YORK Christmas windows,

Which I have been

Avoiding

Like the plague 🙄

I did not move to PARIS!

To be immersed

In NYC

At Christmas 🎄

Time!! 🤯

In fact…

I thought they did a pretty good 👍 job!

It made me feel…

Quite nostalgic…

For the old hometown…

Hotdogs…yum yum

People hanging out on fire escapes…

Or Ice skating ⛸️

Like at Bryant Park

The funny thing about Printemps Christmas 🎄 windows this year, is they are not very commercial. What are they selling aside from the odd scarf 🧣 or purse 👛 ?

True, they recently opened a Printemps branch - ONE Wall Street. 🥂 🍾

You can watch 👁️ a video of the Printemps windows HERE.

And watch 👁️ scenes from New York

Under the snow

HERE
.

I do not miss NY snow ⛄️ one bit ☺️

I’m glad you relented and went to see Printemps windows…and enjoyed it! It looks like they did a nice job. It’s really cute! Funny the French fascination with NYC, they sure do romanticize it.

Congrats on your 2026 New Year Letter. Beautifully done❣️

I’m glad you went! And they really don’t look so much like NYC Christmas windows … but then they aren’t🤣. Fun to see them from the US. At least they are an apolitical take on US culture, thank goodness!!

Love your photos - glad you relented! Just watched the video - very nice, but they need to get their avenues and streets straight - where is Madison St? So cute.

Glad you engaged in a bit of nostalgia. As a native New Yorker (twice removed), I
enjoy going back to visit, but would not want to live there again. NYC is a young person’s game. Thanks for the memories.

Christmas in NYC is magical and I agree that it’s a younger person’s city unless you are a tough old broad with a rent controlled apt on the UWS. The first snow in NYC is magical no matter what and they got a heaping serving the other day. My first Christmas in Paris, living at l’Hotel du Quai Voltaire, the champagne flowed and I was the one to get the baby in the King Cake!!!! T’embrasse et tu me manques!

I enjoyed this and the windows were clever but very much NY. Loved the Nathan’s dogs. Lynne

I was recently thinking how bright and lit up and brash New York City Christmas decor is relative to Paris’ windows and street decorations which seem beautiful snd elegant.

Glad you went - the windows are very cute and not at all commercial. We always took the train into Chicago at Christmas to see the windows of Marshall Fields.
