This is my favorite macaron picture. This is at Fauchon dishing out the pistachios macs.
Fauchon took special care so your macarons didn't get crushed on the ride home..
The lights in the macaron case made the colors look much brighter...
Fauchon macarons loved to pose in still lifes :)
They didn't mind being painted either...
My last (New York) Fauchon macarons...
They were giving them out gratis the last day...sigh...
'Course a few blocks away you can get lovely macarons at La Maison du Chocolat, and they come from France.
And soon Florian Bellanger's Mad Macs NYC should be sending out their macs, so the world is not all that bleak...
Thanks all for letting me obsess on Fauchon. This is like making your scrapbook public...

Now those look like real macs. Mine pale in comparison. I never did get them made...
ReplyDeleteobsess on, you have to live out the pain and sorrow! If not, it can ruin your life and I want you alive and happy!
ReplyDeleteWhen can we look for the opening of the Paris Breakfast Cafe?
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking a petit branch in Ky. with watercolored walls and macarons in toute les couleurs! C'est une bonne idee, n'est pas?
BONNE IDEA Shabby!
ReplyDeleteI'll open a chain to equal Dunkin' Donuts and Crispy Creams!
We'll show those cops what they should be eating with their morning coffee/expresso...
The servers will wear "macaron" hats too !
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee !
There's good news. I found on NYtimes http://travel.nytimes.com/2007/02/28/dining/28off.html that Fauchon is planning on reopening. I sure hope so :)
ReplyDeleteYour scrapbook of Fauchon is eye candy delicious!
ReplyDeleteSuch edible details. It is like having your cake and eating it too.
I think I could get into this type of scrapbooking.
Fauchon is going to miss you too.
MAY
ReplyDeleteMalheuresement "they" always say we will be opening soon blabla..
They told us Xmas at the store.
I'm not sure I believe them :(
Meanwhile LADUREE IS supoosedly opening in the PLAZA in September.
Or so they say...
But what are we fanatical frankophiles to do mean time? ? ?
This has been like a week long fantastic, beautiful wake, to lay Fauchon's closing to rest.
ReplyDeleteI will look for a welcome back party here..IF..Fauchon's do..maybe, hopefully, open elsewhere like THEY say. Unless Paris Breakfasts beats them to it. ;-)
Cris in OR
MMmmm. I agree with Shabby, you definitely need to start your own cafe!
ReplyDeleteAs for macarons, you lucky thing, don't you get to be experiencing the real thing shortly? I just finished my last Paris post on my blog and it made me all weepy.
Do you know, I think you are getting over it and sounding positive. Already you are taking about La Maison du Chocolat and Mad Macs NYC Chin up!
ReplyDeleteYAY PAUL!!!
ReplyDeleteAw, I was just making a list of places to get macarons at. No Fauchon. But the list is lookin good, eh?
Your cafe would be the best cafe everrr.
