Rupunzelle - French Hair

What are they wearing in Paris? You’re wondering.
Very simple. HAIR.
Lots of it.
Morning, noon
And night. You can not go wrong with long straightish hair.
Injections for your hair? Why not?
Straight
Or curly? Doesn't matter.
If your hair is on the short, thin side, extend it with a matching fluffy fur collar.
Even if it is long a fur collar can't hurt. Divide it into 3rds so you're covered fore and aft.
Long hair as insulation UNDER your scarf.
Tousled ringlets? Perfect for your wedding. I hope to hit this show today.
I hope to see this movie too next week. Have you seen The Book Thief.
Loads of hair is nothing new in Paris. Degas painted it in red. Matisse owned it.
Little French girls get a head start growing their tresses for future benefits. I'll never catch up. I've got short locks from the get go. Wanna be a French girl? Grow your hair till you can sit on it. Or get a small long-haired pet to carry around as a substitute.
C’est comme ça.

75010 Here I Come

It's getting to be that time again - Paris is looming on the horizon. Naturally Bear is packed and ready as always.
I'm staying in the 10th arr. this time, an area I don't know so well. Any suggestions are most welcome PBers.
I will be in Paris for the Salon du Chocolat - Wednesday 31st October to 4th November
And there's a big show of packaging 'Emballage 2012' I'd love to attend November 19-22.

A new hot show at the Musee D'Orsay of Impressionism and Fashion has just opened that looks like a must-do.
The Musee des Arts Decoratif is always a must-do for me.
Would you ever mistake this ceramic faux chou for a real cabbage? But a good reminder to eat some veggies non?
Like here in the 10th 23, rue des Vinaigriers at Voy Alimento. (not my photo)
Louise took this photo of 10th arrondissement tarte au citron meringue from La Fabrique a Gateaux 34, rue des Vinaigriers (and just down the street from the veggie resto!).
I read about a not-to-be-missed Tarte Tatin at the new Abri in the 10th from Table a Decouvert. 92, rue du Faubourg Poissonniere. I wonder if you can just get dessert?
I'll definitely be hitting la piscine with all these desserts waiting for me...
Plus I'll be climbing up four flights daily at my rental which can't hurt. I started getting in shape today (3 times so far).
Your advice is requested. My ancient TravelPro finally gave up the ghost in Maine and I need a new small bag (22" tops). I heard 4 wheelers are much better than 2 wheelers. All suggestions most welcome.
And my beloved Canon S90 may need a rest. Have you tried the S95?
 Or the S100?
SOS!
This is a reminder to take French Girl her favorite Murray's Sesame Bagels!
So I can eat some of these (photo unknown) from
Tholoniat  47 rue chateau d'eau 75010
All suggestions most welcome!

What's On in Paris?

Becky said..I have a trip to Paris planned in early May & was wondering..where do you find a schedule of events going on while you are there? Lots of people buy Pariscope on Wednesdays to find out. Not me. I find it too confusing.
I prefer to check the posters in the Metro.
 On the sides of buses
And those scrolling announcements in the street
I check to see what's on at my favorite museums online
If you don't want to stand online it's a good idea to buy your ticket ahead
At FNAC's instore ticket counter. You can see what's on at their website. And you can buy/printout your billet/tickets too, but it was a little trop advancee pour moi
It's fun to get on line at the hottest exposition in Paris to see what people are wearing. Then jump the queue with your ticket in hand and pop right in. Go the first day a show opens and you'll miss big lines and crowds. It worked at the Sempe show. Are they waiting to read the reviews?
Google 'Paris March 2012' - many event sites will come up like KLM.
It has links to special event websites to like PAD.
I hope to catch the Jean-Paul Goude retrospective at Les Arts Decoratifs 107, rue de Rivoli 75001 Tuesdays - Sundays from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. It is open until 9 p.m. on Thursdays. Closed on Mondays.

20 March and on a Tuesday(!?) Usually it's on a Sunday. Will the school kids play hookie? Will you be in town?
I really like this book for boning up pre-trip, but today was the 1st time I ever played the audio CD.
mon dieu...c'est pas facile

Any other Paris suggestions are welcome PBers.

Grand Plans in Paris

Macaron tree,watercolor on Etsy, 5.5" x 7.5"
Has anyone noticed that the watercolors have taken on a grander demeanor...
With fancier trappings surrounding the macarons etc..
We're gearing ourselves up (the birds and I) to visit some real palaces, not just palaces of patisserie! We hope to visit Versailles at least two times. Always after 1:30, when the masses have departed, so we can actually get up close to Marie-Antoinette's boudoir with perhaps a quick bounce on her bed?

A special jaunt to the chateau de Chantilly is on order to see the newly renovated Grand Singerie.

A visit to the Opera Garnier would be rather grand.
Location: Place de l'Opéra, 75009 Paris. Métro: Opéra. RER: Auber.Phone: 01-40-01-23-34 or 01-47-42-53-71 or 01-40-01-22-63.Unguided tours: daily 10 am-5:00 pm Admission: Adults - € 8, students & under 19 - € 4.Box Office Hours: 10 am-5:30 p.m. daily.Web site: http://www.opera-de-paris.fr/

A visit to Josephine's chateau de Malmaison is on the list.

What shall I wear to all these grand visits? A macaron T-shirt bien sur. Another must-do in Paris - divine musee Nissim de Camondo. A stop at the Musee des Arts Decoratif. is a must.

A palace of a different sort - La Salon du ChocolatYUM YUM

Bon Voyage!
