Last Day of Summer in Trouville/Deauville

No more umbrellas to be seen on the beach 🏖️ last Sunday in August in Trouville/ Deauville.

Nice to know they cost 17€ + 7,50€ to assemble for next year’s visit.

I walked down and put my feet in the bracing water along with the die hard bathers 🏊‍♂️
Did you know simply strolling along the ocean 🌊 for 30 minutes is a tonic? You get a good shot of iodine into your system & can forget the salt 🧂 shaker.
I got moules marinière again at Chez Peppy’s
On the boardwalk
And watched families
Building an ambitious 3-tiered sand castle later decorated with seashells.
I was watched by a patient seagull hoping for a handout 🍞
Why was I surprised to see everyone wearing Fall clothes on the last day of August? Like sweatshirts with hoodies and leggings.
Why did I wear my Summery French Workman’s jacket, though I thought briefly about the quilted Uniqlo navy jacket 🙄 which everyone else was wearing.
Walking around Trouville is full of small surprises.
Look 👉Rue Saint Germain. It’s perfectly normal to find the same street names all over France 🇫🇷 you find in Paris, but I’m still surprised. Usually they commemorate a person or saint.
The writer Gustave Flaubert used to summer in Trouville.
i.e.  Hotel Flaubert along the beach.
A side street decorated with flower boxes. Trouville really is such a pretty town to wander through. It’s more than the beach.
Of course I walked back through the Marché des Poissons 🦞
Even though I’d already had my breakfast oysters 🦪 in Deauville earlier.
A closer look at those beloved ❤️🍓 Favorie berries.
Please do not miss out on apple drinks when in Normandie.
Eating artisanal food at the source is the best experience
You can have in France 🇫🇷
If you are into saussiçon you will be thrilled.
A last look at the Deauville harbor 🚤
These 2 sister French towns offer the best of both worlds if you want high-end food + elegance or down to earth simple pleasures in my opinion. And just a short walk either left or right once out of the train station.
And dog 🐶 of the day in Deauville.

Thanks Nicole. There is so much more to France 🇫🇷 than grand chateaux and 3 star dinners and just a few hours train ride just outside Paris 👏

Simply wonderful. Trouville- Deauville are two sister towns amazing to visit while in France. The casino in Deauville is great. I was there once. Magnificent. The water on tje beach is really cold, though. Only for brave swimmers, IMHO. Lol. Regards, Isabelle
