Yesterday I went to Le Village International de la Gastronomie at Eiffel Tower,
Just for a lark…
My favorite coconut 🥥 ice cream from Senegal.
There was a similar mini international gastronomie village at Bastille during Xmas. I went with Julia, who is in Tahiti at the moment.
Divine Persian jam - mirabelle plums with saffron from Maison Boteh.
Bottarga is a codfish roe delicacy I once had to bring back to someone…I still haven’t tried it.
I have been looking for these crunchy, thin mystery Italian crackers for YEARS, but you could only buy olive 🫒 oil 🤷🏻♀️
I’m Carol Gillott, an artist living in Paris. Every month I send out beautifully illustrated letters 💌 from ETSY that capture the true Parisian experience.
You got coconut ice cream!! The food fete looked fabulous! 😋😘
ReplyDeleteInternational food envy. And fashion envy. Love the chef with medal. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting event! Thanks for the tour!
ReplyDeleteLove those Italian crackers and had forgotten about them! Maybe I’ll remember to look for them in Italy tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteFood nostalgia ❤️
DeleteWhat a fun event, right under the Eiffel Tower! The hardest thing seems to be choosing what to eat, though I agree the ice cream is a must.
ReplyDeleteI ate a pastel de Nata, a Brazilian little cod thing, the roasted corn and the ice cream 🍦 I wish they had those amazing dates from Saudi Arabia like the last time…
DeleteAlways something going on! This was a good one…food, international food! Looked like fun, Carol. 🙏🏻
ReplyDeleteTrader Joe’s used to sell the Italian crackers under the name, “Sardinian Parchment Crackers Pane Guttiau”. It looks like they may have discontinued selling them.
ReplyDeleteThere are recipe videos on YouTube…maybe you need a wood-burning stove?
DeletePanne Guttiau.
