Saturday was opening day of the annual Salon de l’Agriculture.
This year I noticed not just families with young kiddies 👶 on holiday getting their palates & minds educated about food.
And try new flavor experiences. I bought these pistachio-studded cookies 🍪 from Morocco Yum Yum (Halle 5)
But getting to know the different regions where it is grown or originates changes your whole perspective.
You will never leave hungry. The black olives from Nyons in the south are some of the absolute best in France 🇫🇷
There are 7 halles to visit, but it is near impossible to hit them all in one visit unless you are Super human. Halle 3 and 7 are regional products & tastes of France 🇫🇷
Halle 4 is mainly farm equipment. But still there is plenty of tasting and cooking demos. See above 👆
I fell in love ❤️ with this shiny red Swiss tote bag and ended up with a tête de moine cheese to put inside the bag.
Have you tried it? 😋
I didn’t make it upstairs to the French over-seas regions. So no Coconut 🥥 sorbet ice-churned the old-fashioned way.
Why I must return for another visit.
And I did not get to Halle 1 for the livestock 🐄 to draw ✍️ Too hungry. The Salon goes on through 2 March. If you’re in Paris, it is an unforgettable experience. Buy your ticket 🎟️ in advance to save time. The weekdays should be less crowded.
The PARIS PASTRY STAMP Letter is up.
Perfect French depth for me today. Specific regions and particular products. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI will be I. Paris for the mo th of April. How can I find out about these sorts of expositions?
ReplyDeleteThere are posters in the Metro and buses of most big fairs taking place. There used to be a weekly journal of all events that came out on Wednesdays but I’m not sure after the Internet.

DeleteThank you!
DeleteIt's always best to eat before viewing one of your tempting food posts. Thanks for all your work and creativity. Always inspirational!
ReplyDeleteFunny! I over-eat before I go…but it makes no difference. I still over-snack there 😀

ReplyDeleteI’d love to see this.
ReplyDeleteDoes the Salon de l’agriculture occurs during the same time frame every year?
ReplyDeleteYes, always during winter school holidays. Something to take the kids to.
DeleteWhich restaurant makes the coconut ice cream? Restaurant Ile de la Reunion?
ReplyDeleteThey do have many regional restaurants but the sorbet is made by individual sellers usually from Senegal.
DeleteYes, probably Réunion 🇷🇪
DeleteI guess no one will starve in Paris!
ReplyDelete😋 😋 😋
DeleteCarol, great pics as always. Is the Salon de L'agriculture just once a year?
ReplyDeleteYes it’s always held during the school holidays in February - March for 7 days.
DeleteFor 60 years. A great Paris tradition.
Just been once, but it was such a treat! Thanks for taking me back. Enjoy your return visit and that coconut ice cream!
ReplyDeleteIts a rare treat once a year 🍨 🥥
DeleteThis is food paradise. Lynne
ReplyDeleteYour trips to these food halls remind me of our 2022 excursion, and I check out flight prices immediately! Thank you so much for your tasty and colorful trips all over France. I picture you there with iPad in hand
ReplyDeleteAnn Scarff
Hi Ann, yes iPad is always in hand.
DeleteI hope to see you
I look forward to this post every year and it never disappoints. I would have snapped up some of those Kouign Aman - they look so good. Now I'm really hungry and looking forward to your return visit. Does Bear ever get to go with you?
ReplyDeleteThere are so many goodies to choose from at the Salon, it can be daunting.
DeleteI resisted until the very end Suki, when I was quite tired 😀
Oh my!!!!! Those Madeleines!!!! 😍 Your Pastry letter is delicious! ❤️from🇨🇦
ReplyDeleteLooks very tasty!
ReplyDeleteFun and interesting to be able to learn about different regions.
We have big agricultural shows in our capital cities in Australia, but it’s a bit different to this salon, more outside space and events as well as halls of produce/animals/equipment.
There are also competitions for food/flowers/etc with ribbons given out and rides and things for kids.
How fun the Australian fairs sound!
DeleteThey have trials and awards here to mainly for the livestock 🐄
Your work provides those small, daily touch points that inspire me to see the world in a more vibrant and meaningful way. Camille
