Salon International de l'Agriculture 2025

Baby carrots at Salon de l’Agriculture
Saturday was opening day of the annual Salon de l’Agriculture.

French child at fish counter
Going EARLY as possible is always a good idea 👍
Inside Halle 3 at Salon de l’Agriculture
It gets very crowded.
People lined up for crepes from Brittany
With Big lines for everything…especially Brittany crêpes 🥞 with cidre
This year I noticed not just families with young kiddies 👶 on holiday getting their palates & minds educated about food.
Young beer drinkers at the Salon
Plenty of Gen Zers were present there to taste, especially the beer 🍺. Quite the party atmosphere going on.
Moroccan seller with crunchie cookies
And try new flavor experiences. I bought these pistachio-studded cookies 🍪 from Morocco Yum Yum (Halle 5)
Big loaves of French baked bread.
Visitors rave about French food being the best.
Brittany sausage sellers
But getting to know the different regions where it is grown or originates changes your whole perspective.
The apple stand at the Salon
So many samples to taste at the Salon.
Black Nyon olives and olive oil
You will never leave hungry. The black olives from Nyons in the south are some of the absolute best in France 🇫🇷
Kouign Amann at the Brittany boulangerie
I did not sample the Kouign Amann…I just browsed.
Fortunately there were no free samples 🙏 at the Brittany boulangerie in Halle 3.
Extra big madeleines
Admittedly I’d already eaten an over-sized Madeleine in another Halle 🙄 Big as muffins!
Britanny plate of oysters
I did get a delicious plate of oysters 🦪 nearby (9€). Even the place mats are educational.
Map of the halles at Porte de Versailles
There are 7 halles to visit, but it is near impossible to hit them all in one visit unless you are Super human. Halle 3 and 7 are regional products & tastes of France 🇫🇷
Inside Halle 4 at the Salon
I got to Halle 2.2, 3, 4 and the ground floor of 5 only.
Vintage poster of farm equipment
Halle 4 is mainly farm equipment. But still there is plenty of tasting and cooking demos. See above 👆
African chocolate makers
Halle 5 is world products.
Samples from Algetia
Algerian dates are divine…
Swiss red bag and cheese.
I fell in love ❤️ with this shiny red Swiss tote bag and ended up with a tête de moine cheese to put inside the bag.
Have you tried it? 😋
Fresh churned coconut ice cream
I didn’t make it upstairs to the French over-seas regions. So no Coconut 🥥 sorbet ice-churned the old-fashioned way.
Why I must return for another visit.
And I did not get to Halle 1 for the livestock 🐄 to draw ✍️ Too hungry. The Salon goes on through 2 March. If you’re in Paris, it is an unforgettable experience. Buy your ticket 🎟️ in advance to save time. The weekdays should be less crowded.
On the way home, Parisiens were basking in the sun 🌞 by the Seine.

There are posters in the Metro and buses of most big fairs taking place. There used to be a weekly journal of all events that came out on Wednesdays but I’m not sure after the Internet.

      Funny! I over-eat before I go…but it makes no difference. I still over-snack there 😀

Which restaurant makes the coconut ice cream? Restaurant Ile de la Reunion?

They do have many regional restaurants but the sorbet is made by individual sellers usually from Senegal.

  13. I look forward to this post every year and it never disappoints. I would have snapped up some of those Kouign Aman - they look so good. Now I'm really hungry and looking forward to your return visit. Does Bear ever get to go with you?

There are so many goodies to choose from at the Salon, it can be daunting.
I resisted until the very end Suki, when I was quite tired 😀

  15. Looks very tasty!
Fun and interesting to be able to learn about different regions.
We have big agricultural shows in our capital cities in Australia, but it’s a bit different to this salon, more outside space and events as well as halls of produce/animals/equipment.
There are also competitions for food/flowers/etc with ribbons given out and rides and things for kids.
