Did I know about the 5 BEST pastries 🥮 The Frenchies were featuring on Youtube? I did not 🙁
Ideally Bonnie would like me to eat EVERY single new pastry in Paris, so she can get a vicarious thrill 🙄
You too can check out the latest 5 best pastries chosen by THE FRENCHIES.
Yesterday I went to my favorite pastry 🥮 hangout, La Maison Le Gourmet. They have so many branches of famous patisseries making it an easy one-stop shop.
I went for research 🔬 only of course…
Ah ha! The Dalloyau l’Opéra cake!
Pierre Hermè calls his by another name, but it looks similar.
Inspiring La Poste to create a special Valentines stamp (for France 🇫🇷 use only, like the pastry 🥮 stamps).
I have looked so many times at Yann Couvreur’s foxy 🦊 cake (one of The Frenchies favorites) but I did not succumb. Have you tried it?
No La Maison du Chocolat at Lafayette but l’Eclair du Genie has a nice looking chocolate number..
I could of have so easily dived 🏊 into this Tarte au Citron Meringuée but why wreck it’s beautiful lines and curves? It’s always good idea 👍 to test your resistance to temptation with a monthly stroll 🚶♂️ in La Maison Lafayette. I highly recommend it.
From there I went to buy stamps for your Paris Letter envelopes 💌 Nice Springy birds 🐦 but for in France 🇫🇷 use only.
Almost every corner, shop, and street has something interesting to see in Paris! My daughter said 'everything is a picture' and took about 800 of them it seemed several years ago. Thank you for this lovely post!
ReplyDeleteIt’s really hard to limit photos 📸 in Paris !
DeleteI can sympathize
Merci Carol, I always enjoy your posts, and today I fell on the ice we have outside thanks to our long lasting polar vortex in New England … and I need the pastry picture! Going straight to Etsy!
ReplyDeleteI just can't get wonderful sweets like these here in Indiana. Very frustrating. The Girl Scouts should sell a cookie with foxes on them. I think they'd be popular :-)
ReplyDeleteSuccumb! Succumb, for god’s sake! We cannot, so you need to. Your restraint is not serving us vicarious Parisians!
ReplyDeleteMerci for your pastry research! Your self control is remarkable. At 10 Euros, c'est très cher, so perhaps restraint is good for the pocket book and the waistline.
ReplyDeleteExactly. The high prices are an easy deterrent
DeleteMerci Dieu 🙏
Ohhh Carol, another FABULOUS post!!!!!! We now have a shop, Paris Baguettes, with so many beautiful goodies!!!! I'm outside Chicago. I feel lucky!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThere is one in New York (or more). It’s a chain…maybe Asian.

Yum! They all look so delicious! We have a bakery out here in Napa Valley, CA called Bouchon Bakery that sells items like the ones in your photos. Irresistible! I’m glad to live an hour away! Thanks for the wonderful post!
ReplyDeleteBouchon Bakery in Napa Is owned by Chef Thomas Keller! 👍
DeleteLa creme de la creme
Oh my, yes! You are my Paris pastry taste-tester…and this letter is definitely a vicarious thrill! Love those postage stamps.
ReplyDeleteI’ve decided (after way too many pastries!), that I am restricting myself to the creme de la creme of Paris pastries…and sharing ONLY…1/2 goes to my honey. I can appreciate them better without being overwhelmed by sugar/richness. Current fave is Phillipe Contacini. His Paris Breast is not only fabulously yummy, it is a manageable size.
That’s it!
DeleteI wouldn't mind sharing with you two.
These are too much for one person 👍
I am never able to resist a good lemon tarte.
ReplyDeleteYum yum!!! Lovely homage to pastry!!! I would’ve volunteered to be your official taste tester, but it appears I am too late! 😘🇨🇦
ReplyDeleteIt’s Never too late Nicole.
DeleteThe position remains open!
The stamps are fabulous I saw a pastry next to the Fox cookie thing. Left. Nuts and is that caramel. Oh my. Lynne
ReplyDeleteEverything looked so good.q
