Les Fleurs d'Yves Saint Laurent, Musee YSL

Yesterday I went to the

New YSL Flower 🌺 focused exhibit,

Lush and lovely,
On till 4 May, 2025
If you’re coming in early Spring.
Yves Saint Laurent and his partner, Pierre Berge were always surrounded by flowers and gardens, in their apartment, fashion house and country homes.
To mark the opening on Friday of the exhibit the entrance was decorated with bowers of sunflowers & chrysanthemums
By florist Baptiste Pitou, who was in charge of the backdrops for Saint Laurent’s runway shows.
An exquisite organza blouse from the 2002 collection, covered in embroidered lily of the valley was an homage to Christian Dior (his lucky flower), Saint Laurent’s mentor and first employer in Paris before he opened his own maison..
Yves didn’t believe flowers 🌺 were just for Spring collections, but for year-round.
Though he did create a flower 🌸 bikini of sorts…
Part of the exhibit is a 10-minute video of Saint-Laurent’s design  evolution.
Throughout the exhibit
Quotes from Proust’s Swan in Love set a background for the dresses.
I don’t know why they left out this fabulous flower 🌺 shoe from YSL’s 1971 collection?
I spotted the same girl from the top of the steps, sitting wistfully by the window…perhaps dreaming of owning a Yves Saint-Laurent.
I’m Carol Gillott, an artist living in Paris. Every month I send out beautifully illustrated letters that capture the true Parisian experience. Sign up to receive these whimsical treasures monthly in the mail.📮
Thanks for reading❤️
Or you can buy me a birthday 🥳 Ko-fi ☕️ 🤸‍♂️
And outside a French couple walking by completely oblivious of fashion mostly…

Looks fun!!! I would’ve created an international incident trying to abscond with that Lily -of -the- valley blouse! Love it! ❤️
