Shine bright like a diamond
Shine bright like a diamond
Shine bright like a diamond
Find light in the beautiful sea
I choose to be happy
You and I, you and I
I choose to be happy
You and I, you and I
We're like diamonds in the sky
You're a shooting star I see
A vision of ecstasy
When you hold me, I'm alive
You're a shooting star I see
A vision of ecstasy
When you hold me, I'm alive
I saw the life inside your eyes
So shine bright, tonight you and I
We're beautiful like diamonds in the sky
Eye to eye, so alive
So shine bright, tonight you and I
We're beautiful like diamonds in the sky
Eye to eye, so alive
We're beautiful like diamonds in the sky
Shine bright like a diamond
Shine bright like a diamond

ReplyDeleteThe City of Light, indeed. No one does holidays like Paris. Beautiful, Carol. ❤️
ReplyDeleteParis . . . so full of light and sparkles. When we arrived in Paris for a two-year stay, we arrived in January thinking it would be so dark and gloomy. But everywhere around us light spilled onto the sidewalks and up from the river--cafe and shop windows, tourist boats on the Seine, the wonderful carousels that appeared here and there. It was all like a beautiful painting or film. We ducked out to Amsterdam in February--different story--all grays and blacks with little sparkle. When we arrived back, Paris looked like a carnival by comparison, everybody out, their elegant shapes moving in streams on the sidewalks even in their all-black attire. I cherish my many evening photos taken with available light coming from every direction. One of my favorites is an elegant gold trash bag with a big bow leaning against a boutique on rue Jacob. Yes, City of Light.
ReplyDeleteThis is magnificent! Such splendor and beauty and a reminder of why Paris IS the City of Light!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful hopeful post ...Paris shining bright despite the pandemic the world is in . There will be light at the end of the tunnel . Thank you for sharing and the beautiful lyrics from Rhianna .
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the City of Light with us today. We were in Paris the weekend before Christmas in 1968 and I was entranced by all the lights (though it was nothing like it is now) and I love getting to see it again if only on my screen. Merry and Happy Christmas, Carol and Bear. Hugs to you both.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely memory Suki ❤️
ReplyDeleteSo happy to share Paris’ beauty :))
Thanks to you and Rihanna for this gorgeous greeting, Carol. We appreciate your taking us to Paris all the time with your diligence to your blog. You are amazing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful words and pictures! Such a delight!

That carousel! Thanks. Our small town cancelled the 56th Candlelight Tour and asked for suggestions. They decided on a drive through but my wish included a carousel.
ReplyDeleteI’m sending you many carousels Sally
ReplyDeleteThey are all over here. That one was free. There was a big line of kiddies and parents patiently waiting :))
The lights here are not like in Europe where there is some artistic flair. My favorites here are curtains of lights. Eight strands that hang down 8 feet. But really any lights lift my spirits.
ReplyDeleteI think they made an extra effort with the lights this year...even calling it ‘Paris Scintille’
ReplyDeleteThe Bastille was never lighted before that I recall
Everyone needs their spirits lifted this year. ⭐️
Beautiful words by Rihanna.. and soothing winter photos to feast while I’m reading. Thank you
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! The lights look beautiful everywhere, anyway! I hope people get a chance to enjoy them
ReplyDeleteChere Carol,
ReplyDeleteJe vous envoie tous mes meilleurs voeux de sante pour la nouvelle annee 2021
thank you for the joy you bring :)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend. Even with the virus Paris looks spectacular.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
What a great illustration of Rihanna's song! Brilliant like a diamond!
