Paris Librarian Look

I saw quite a few examples of the glam 'librarian' look in Paris
In windows/ vitrines and stores if not on the street, but I forgot to look...
The Woody Allen '4-eyes'-coke-bottle glasses seems to be in with Paris oculists...
Actress Louise Bourgoin wears 'Woody' glasses and looks adorbs non?
Hot and sexy with just a pink scrap of Vichy check fabric + your lunettes/glasses. Pourqui pas?
All top designers make FAB lunette for Parisians...
 Jean-Paul Gautier likes triple arms...
How to accessorize your 'librairian' look?
The Art of Writing supplies quill pens, perfumed inks and kid school satchels...

Edible lunettes! The best kind.

  3. I love librarians and I love Paris, together even better. I also adore glasses. :-) Fun post!

I was in a thrift shop and the soundtrack to Midnight in Paris was playing. I thought of your lovely blog of course. I must go out and get it!

  4. Edible Lunettes! How clever.... I saw that look when I was there at market. As a matter of fact there is a gorgeous blonde pharmacist around the corner, she had that look with tourtise shell lunettes and added a grey cashmere scarf.....Maryanne ;)

In that accessory photo- do you know what brand that black bag is made by? It's exactly what I'm looking for.

  11. I've had to wear glasses since I turned 5, so this post was of particular interest to me. Believe me or not, I managed to find a small store in my remote corner of American suburbia that sells European frames! Thank goodness! The owner is a former French student of mine, and her husband is Swedish. They go to Europe once a year and bring back the coolest frames, bless them! ;-) I was not even surprised when you pulled off the "edible glasses" at the end of your post. The blog is known as Paris Breakfast after all... ;-) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

    For your eyeucation.
Today's New York Times Style section shows new eyewear from J. Crew in collaboration with the fancy French eyeglass maker, Selima Optique. They have tortoiseshell (like Hanneli Mustaparta wears), black and lemon and cherry red cat eyes. Pas cher.

  17. Torties in green, amber & brown ,cat eyes for the studious side & Amber, turquoise & copper swoopsy narrower rectangles for the arty side ( ie, the ones I have to use for close up work). I didn't have to have prescription glasses until I was 50, but I would buy those wild print Peepers cause they were fun when I started needing a little magnification for reading. I know teenagers who don't need glasses who get them for accessories, something I never would have done when I was 16!

  20. hee hee Parisians sure love their geek glasses. A couple years ago me and some friends were bitching about how Parisian youth love to wear them, then we walked past a cafe and there was a woman wearing a pair...WITHOUT LENSES! Whats the point! She was itching her eyes balls threw the glasses so that was a big giveaway.
