Yesterday I went out to buy stamps & got on the wrong bus just for fun (bus 29 if you want to follow in my footsteps).

I ended up near rue Montorgueil 75001 (the main post office is close but closed by 12:30 Saturdays 🙁)

I swore no FINANCIERS would pass my lips for at least a week. Ha!

On Friday while strolling down rue Montorgueil temptation beckoned. A new concept shop - the brain child of exquisite pastry magazine, FOU DE PATISSERIE has just opened at 45, rue Montorgueil, 75002.

More Summer whites for the weekend, even if they predict stormy weather...Painting white objects is no piece of cake it turns out...Hmmmm I am up the whazoo with gateaux blanche here thanks to my greediness for mini this and that.. A Mozartian white wedding gateau.*Note the 2 shades of white - cream plus a little touch of pink - the heart. When there's a transportation strikes in Paris you discover new things! Like these fabulous and gorgeous ceramic pear sculptures...The pears sit in Restaurant Benoit's windows on 20, rue St. Martin, noted for it's turn-of-the-century Belle Epoque bistrot decor.And artichokes...This handsome huge snail resides in L'Escargot's window on rue Montorgueil.Another Benoit window display..
So what's the point of all this white?
Well that's just it! There is a lot of color in white. Warm and cool colors depending... White is the combination of all colors of the visible light spectrum.
Like these tarts from PAUL Boulangerie are warm in tone.And there is a bit of blue and warm tones in this gelato.
Gelato for breakfast anyone? I hope it's lemon.

White roses are the perfect color subject.

Notice everyone in this picture has brown hair  Parisien Anne told me most Frenchies have brown hair not blonde. Being a former brunette, I came home, changed my hair color to brown.Quelle disastre!Ca m'énerve/it annoys me

 On Sunday there are lines EVERYWHERE at the marche on rue Montmartre waiting for oysters. Especially on Sundays. Ca m'énerve
Just walking down rue Montorgueil (which I finally learned to spell and pronounce) is plein du monde!

It's Sunday. At Pain De Sucre you get on line just to browse. This is a line I don't mind getting on. This is the 1st time there's not much of a line at the crêpe stand. Course I don't really want a crêpe right now...
c'est la vie. ça m'énerve Lines form along the Seine on Sunday, in the pedestrian walks. Well amost lines.Did you know scooters are still big in Paris? And not just kids. If you have a scooter, by all means take it next trip. I would, if I had one... You can take your scooter on line at Patisserie Gerard Mulot on Sundays.
 You can NOT take your scooter here. I'm just guessing.

I've passed by many times at 38, rue Montorgueil 75001, 

And perused the menu.

No guts, no glory

While I was busy prepping for the March trip, I noticed something - how Paris arrondissements are laid out.

Paris is laid out like a snail 🐌 with the lower numbers in the middle. 

French Girl says, "Paris was built like a snail. You can see it perfectly when you look at the map with the quartiers. 

Take your finger ☝️ Imagine #1 is at the center. Then draw a snail 🐌 with the other numbers and you'll be able to place the "arrondissements. “Yes we Parisians are snails 🐌 "

 I saw a million chocolate snails in Paris for Easter.

  Not a snail, but a close relative.

This gorgeous snail was in New York Bergdorf Goodman's Xmas windows. I once had snails at now long-gone classic Bistro de Saint-Peres. Eating l'escargot is similar to eating 🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐 croissants at one sitting, the butter 🧈 is that rich.
Paris provides the antidote - ODDIBIL 250. Available over the counter at pharmacies - just plain old charcoal tablets.  They filter out the gras/fat so you can live to eat another day.

Les Animaux de Paris

I keep seeing all manner of This vache/cow in the fromagerie/cheese store on rue Montorgueil was busy wahching the passing ladybug. It wasn't just me noticing Paris animals.

Back on rue Montorgueil, a pedestrian street, 

And in the window of restaurant L'Escargot Montorgueil, a fantasy snail still life.. Paris isn't just about , and chocolat and Eiffel towers or even Paris Breakfasts. There's a lovely reverence here for all animals.

this restaurant has snails attached everywhere. And rightly so, since they are the main focus of the menu. macarons

Another cow grazing just down from my hotel on rue de Seine in a Fromagerie..

animals in Paris, not just birds. A mom is walking with her little girl, who is walking her coccinelle/ladybug. The red wings flap as it follows her...
