Bergdorfs Carnival of the Animals

Some of you had a problem with yesterday's animals in fancy dress...
Some of you even have pets though I know you would never hang a scarf or pink tam o'shanter on your pet bien sur...
Fortunately Bergdorfs has no qualms about putting anyone in fancy dress no matter how many feet they have...
And we are much richer for it every Xmas don't you think?
Magic and whimsey are always in short supply so why not?
Bergdorfs calls this years extravaganza 'Carnival of the Animals'
These 7 views are just 1 window...
An elegant winter tea soiree...
A cuppa peut-etre?
Or a petit-four? What? No macaronies?
Mountain goats are invited to this tea party...
There must be champagne. More Bergdorfs windows to come.
Last night I popped into A La Veille Russie galerie for an exquisite exhibit of rare mechanical wonders from the Sandoz collection at 781 5th Avenue and 59th street. Tomorrow is the last day and there's a charitible donation of $15 - well worth it.
Bon Weekend!

More Animal Tails

Do you dream of dating a deer..?
What about two darling deer for a night on the town?
Go dancing with a handsome ram...

Or better yet a menage a trois with three handsome dandies...

Nothing wrong with swanning around town with your best pals...

Or throw on your best kimono for a closer look at the Met's Storytelling in Japanese Art

Scrolls and screens of delightfully well dressed animals tell the tale of the horoscope.Better a chicken with a pot than within...

'...more than 100 works that span mostly from the 13th to the 19th centuries. At its core are some 20 hand scrolls, or emaki, an ingenious medium evolved from the illustrated sutras that began landing in Japan from China in the eighth century as part of the spread of Buddhism'.

A mouse party that raises havoc before...

The mouse bride takes her vows...

A game of Go post-wedding festivities - there's nothing these elegant pets don't get up to and in to - at the Met till may 6, 2012.

Back to Bergdorfs where a bunny studies animal tendencies in depth...

Bonjour Deer PBers!

Men Are Animals

In Bergdorfs windows men are animals...
They've done this before...
This is not the first time they've put wolves in sheeps clothing(woolen suits etc.)

Or let the lamb and the wolf sit down together for a shave and a haircut, two bits!
Artic wolves and penquins are on friendly terms in Bergdorf's mens windows...
The Paris Metro thinks men are animals, but not so well behaved/bien elevee as Bergdorfs...
French frogs caught jumping the turnstile is a non, non.
SVP do NOT spit out your gum inside le Metro! Wait until you are outside....
Evidently la femme Francaise can behave badly blabbing loudly on le bus! Who knew?
Back to sane Bergdorfs where dapper cats...
Take trustworthy dogs for a spin in the Park...
This little dog is waiting patiently for the Xmas windows across 5th Avenue.

BONJOUR Les Animaux!

New York Xmas Animaux

Animals bearing gifts is always a welcome sight. Though this Bergdorfs Doberman looks like he might take a bite out of you if the gift box were not firmly wedged between his teeth...ahem I prefer a pugs bearing a diamond-studded mini pugs to the fierce Bergdorf hound. Racoons wearing pendents and pheasants decked in diamond bracelets are certainement easy on the eye... I LOVE Mes VitrinesNYC green reindeer spotted at Covent Garden in London. Rather more than this odd New York reindeer sporting a wild boar and a goose on his back - who knows what this means? I haven't a clue.
Saks Fifth Avenue saw fit to put a giant octopus tentacle in their Xmas windows. Go figure..?
Their clock-work elephant makes a tad more sense but not much.
I'll take Ralph Laurens Rugby giant swan anyday.
Offspring Dylan of Dylan's Candy loves fishing penquins and who can blame her? Especially when the fish are Swedish and not on the endangered list!
Roasting marshmellows over an open fire of candy corn looks like fun.
There is a plethora of bears in New York Xmas windows...
With good reason - the well-dressed bear is an essential.

Cashmere scarf + woodsy red-checked hat makes the New York bear de super classe.
I got it from BEAR'S mouth and who would know better?
BONJOUR NEW YORK ANIMAUX!
