Dogs in Paris

Meet New Yorker Amos, a Yorkiepoo and a working dog.

Amos is on vacance in Paris for a few days, but mostly you can find him monitoring dog training classes. Yes, he sits at a desk wearing a coat that says 'Principal' and makes sure the other dogs behave...ahem
His mom, Anna, formerly fulltime journalist now dog trainer was lucky Amos invited her to come to Paris.

Amos minding his Ps and Qs at café Le Select. This guy knows the ropes and doesn't miss a trick.

I was a little surprised when he ordered a croquet Madame but who am I to question this brainy little critter.
Croque Madame - that's a very cheesy croque Monsieur with a fried egg on top.
Amos performs a few brilliant tricks up his sleeve after eating his dejeuner like waving...
Sit up!
Play dead!
Pets can paint on an ipad. Who knew?

The dogs take 'Selfies' like this adorb photo Amos took with a gentle tap of his nose to the screen.
Anna is one lucky duck to work for Amos at SFTD isn't she? Trips to Paris now and then make awfully nice perks I'd say...
Dans la rue Amos practices his French and makes friends in no time at all. If you're bringing your pet to Paris what about an onsite portrait?

Tout Biff Deux

There have been many requests for more Biff.

Biff is an ex-pat British dog, though he was rescued from a French pound of sorts. Still he has a British passport (he really does). Who knew?

He lives in rural central western France not too far from Poitiers.

Biff can look very patient when waiting for dinner.

He only eats off a British pub placemat and only British dog food. A dog of most discerning tastes is Biff.

One of his finer attributes is he blends in with any decor and even adds a little something to the mix.

Unlike his cousins, Parisian pampered pets

 Biff carries his own leash

He's made quite a name for himself around town amongst the locals, astonished at his independence, though he speaks not one word of French. Charm will get you everywhere.

I must admit I've yet to do Biff's portrait. This is criminal on my part.

I did paint Isaboo at the Gelateria so why not Biff at the boulangerie?

Biff is reknown for his social skills around town and where ever he goes.

Though you wouldn't know it from looking at this cat.

Nevermind. Biff wouldn't hurt a flea.

If you want to read more about Biff, do pick up one of his mum, Karen Wheeler's three books in the Tout Sweet series - loaded with juicy tales of darling Biff. And I must get painting a tout a suite!

Paris Dogs

Paris pets in the Metro...a common sight to be sure.
You have to keep your eyes peeled to catch Parisian pets on the bus.

But they are very much present, here hopping off the bus.

I noticed a slew of bigger dogs this trip - this Lab is leash-free.
Some big Paris dogs are behaving badly..ahem
I wondered if this was an ex-pat from New York...
This Giant Schnauser was quite insistent about going inside.
During our tour of the marche Bastille, Phyllis pointed out a regular - a big Puli lounging a top his owner's rolls of tablecloths.
Phyllis promised to let me walk her adorable Jack Russell, Bimba if I move to Paris. This is reason enough to make the move is it not?
Dogs in the windows are a common sight in Paris real or otherwise.
As are chickens.
I was delighted when Ronda asked me to paint her pedigreed chickens at the Tour Eiffel.
Marc Jacobs is drawing pets as well - this mural in Galeries Lafayette will amuse.
Ben and Kitty are visiting Paris figuratively and virtually.
Molly likes to hang out on rue de Buci cafe...
If you have a pet longing to be sent to Paris 'figuratively' do let me know. I'd love to paint them.
Unusual pets like lapin, chevre, boas, chickens even mice get a special prix by the way. These are Marc Jacob's mice shoes.

If I Lived in Paris...

I'm thinking about it seriously. Soon I'll be back in NYC looking at Paris street sign magnets on the refrigerator.
Instead of the REAL thing dans le rue.
If I lived in Paris I could show you les fleurs grande et petite.
By the way my French has improved a lot. People consistently respond to me in French (!) I just wish I understood what they were saying%$#@!
I would show you many more ballerinas.
Once a week I'd shoot with Mes VitrinesNYC the latest Paris fashion windows.
And shoot more Paris backs regularly.
 I'd shoot more architecture.
 And more reflections in windows/vitrines.
I could do more dessert research at Angelina's and other yummy places.
 And more coccinelle research.
I know you're all waiting for that. But honestly is there another town on the planet so smitten with this little red and black bug 🐞
Thanks to reading Bringing Up Bebe indepth before I left, I've been eating more fruit compote.
And a lot less sweets (with a big helping hand from The Power of Habit).
I will never give up MACARONS!
Don't worry.
I am wondering how Weight Watchers France found me? They're bombarding me with emails!?
I've become a BIG fan of La Grande Epicerie Paris macarons.
Ah...Paris dogs. They would be on my menu daily if I lived here.
I'd shoot more shoes on the bus and metro. Thanks to Jill of Mad About Macarons for pointing out that I did this. I didn't realize...
When I finally finish my book on Paris, the back flap could say, 'she's an ex-pat who lives in Paris'. Wouldn't that be nice! What do you think? Should I do it?
