By the way, they were playing the perfect background music 🎵 to entice you to buy - Gluck - Orfeo ed Euridice, Wq. 30, Act 1: "Chiamo il mio ben così ... Piangi.
And they had croissants 🥐 !
And a very good place to start exploring.

Across the hall, irresistible toy shop, PAIN D’ÉPICÉ .
I am always looking for the petite ourson/little articulated bear 🐻 I bought here eons ago. Why did I leave him behind in New York 😭 ? I brought the checked table with me (which I never use…and left dear Bear 🐻).
These bears have none of his elegance (plus they are 39€!) where he was a mere 3 bucks. The nonsense one remembers 🙄
You can even stay in this Passage at HOTEL CHOPIN 🎵

Love the photo of gold tree toppers
ReplyDeleteOh Carol! Merci for the introduction to Maison du Roy! Fabulous, full of temptation. Have you looked at ‘Si Tu Veux’ at Galerie Vivienne for your lost bear? They also have lots of miniatures. Love your Holiday Letters, so festive, so gift-able! ❤️
ReplyDeleteThis was such a delightful newsletter Carol. It really put me in the Christmas spirit as no one decorates for the holidays like Paris. Just beautiful. The gold tree toppers are gorgeous. I love your latest Christmas letter with the snowmen, birds and reindeer. Hope it becomes available as a single letter on Etsy. Sorry you missed out on getting that sweet little bear in NY. He does indeed have a special charm. -Suzanne P.
ReplyDeleteYou need to buy a Steiff. Expensive ça but the best.
ReplyDeleteI love your glorious photos of Christmas delights! I miss the holiday buzz of Paris! Your little bear is truly the sweetest I’ve ever seen. He is still with you in your memories and your heart.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the introduction to Orfeo ed Euridice !
ReplyDeleteThis is all so elegant!
