Get Puffy/Gonflé with Rick Owens & Samaritaine

Yesterday I finally got to the RICK OWENS expo at Palais Galliera.

There was a huge storm/orage in Paris the night of the opening.
Rick Owens is one of a kind in American and French couture - his background story watch this (9 minutes).
Meanwhile the background music 🎵 at the exhibit & this post, listen to this
Dramatic!
Sculptural.
Astonishing designs.
Unlike most fashion exhibits at the Palais, where you need a flashlight 🔦 like at the Peter Jones hat 🎩 exhibit.,
Owens insisted the curtains be drawn. 🤸‍♂️An absolute first in my experience. Hurray
Definitely a unique approach to clothing the body.
I was reminded of Owens’ dramatic swaths of fabric in this Notre Dame painting I passed by today.
 I needed a pistachio ice cream cone🍦
From Cova tea salon at Pont Neuf.
And a quick browse at their lush pastries,
Before heading into wavy 🌊 floating Samaritaine.
The windows are full of pool 🏊‍♂️ floats.
Inside displays are on pool water rafts.
Don’t take a pin 💉 with you. You could do some serious damage 😂
Waterwings are the new, hot accessory.
You could buy mini blowup keychains?
What 2 French girls were wearing.

Ah his partner, Michelle Lamy. They even had their bed 🛌 in the exhibit! And their close closet. Evidently Owens gets design ideas watching old black and white movies 🎥 on TV with the sound off and classical music 🎵 playing!

Yup, the clothes are pretty fantastic, but I’ll take that pistachio ice cream cone over any/all of them! ☺️

Realité vs. an other worldly vision.

Carol, Thank you for sharing your view of Paris with us. You always know the best exhibits and places! I just received my Paris Letter I ordered through your Etsy shop of St Regis. I love, love, love it. The artwork and depth of colour are perfect. I have it hanging in my kitchen in a simple black frame and it makes me happy every time I see it. Jane
