Aqua Dog Normandie-La Fête de la Mer

 

I went back to Trouville-sur-mer on Saturday for la FÊTE DE LA MER 🐟 

And discovered AQUA DOG NORMANDIE!

First I went looking for the strawberry 🍓 man in Deauville Marché, but he was not there! I found endless strawberry 🍓 desserts instead 😭

As consolation, I stopped for oysters 🦪 & crevettes 🦐 at Poissonierie Morny Deauville.

I took the little boat over to Trouville. 

Hoping 🙏 Strawberry 🍓 man would be in one of those white tents…

But, it was not to be.

It was all wooden board games 

Knickknacks

And seaman whatknots…

When I saw a sign ‘AQUA DOG’ I immediately thought, OK, a fish 🐟 hotdog 🌭 ??

Instead I found piles of Newfoundland dogs under a tent 

Being adorable. Free petting allowed. I bought a red AQUA DOG hat 🧢 & a calendar 📆 

They said come back to see a life saving 🆘 demonstration.

There were supposed to be mackerel 🐟 demonstrations somewhere but I never found them..Quelle disappointment 😐

Does this seem like a shaggy dog story to you?

Meanwhile I went off to kill time at the ice cream parlor with complimentary colors (Matcha & Framboise) on a crêpe.

And make doggie doodles ✍️

Finally 15:45 Ta Da! There was a big crowd. Did I say the dogs are trained to save people drowning in the water!

I would have loved to volunteer to be saved by a Newfie 🏊

I wonder if I could have a Newfoundland 

Or two in my little studio 🤔

Every time a dog saved someone there was great clapping 👏

And the dog would shake himself like mad giving everyone a free shower 🚿

Time for the obligatory moule marinière (17€) at Brasserie Les Vapeurs before heading home.

Now I can’t stop thinking or painting 🎨 those cuddly dogs
