Paris Plages 2025 🏊 Jean Gaumy et la Mer

It looks like these people are sunning on the beach 🏖️

Doesn’t it?
They are not.
They are under my bridge, Pont de Sully getting crispy at the annual PARIS PLAGE.
I almost made it into the Seine 🏊 yesterday, but I missed the boat. Too many other to-dos. It is not open every day…mostly on weekends which seems unfair 🙄 especially when the temps are in the 90s 🥵 like this week.
I did happily make it into the splendide Piscine Pontoise instead🏊 Très elegant.
I have been dropping by Paris Plages on occasion
And every single lounge chair is taken!
One can only conclude it’s a hit
With Parisians left behind.
They have fun things like Free suntan lotion dispensers (I tried it - pleasantly creamy)
and Free Selfie photos of yourself at Paris Plage 👍 OUI!
The theme this year is Brazilian,
Since it was a Wednesday, I thought they might have Feijoada, a classic beans & meaty stew served only on weekends and Wednesdays. They did not 😲
On Monday I went for more watery 🌊 experiences
At newly renovated Musée National de la Marine at Trocadero.
It is now a stunning space for boat-lovers
And everyone else up for a sea worthy adventure.
The painting collection is knock-your-socks-off terrific, with of course all manner of boat models and any equipment related to sailing the ocean bleu.
I came particularly for thé photography exhibit of Jean Gaumy.
He is a member of Magnum,
And a superb master photographer
Off all things ocean-related.
He travels the world following traditional fisherman.
And this is a man who suffers from
chronic sea-sickness.
Certainly a man following his passion ❤️
I thought this exhibit was timely, since I’m going to la Fête de la Mer  🐟 in TROUVILLE on Saturday - a big celebration for the fisherman and their boats 🚤
🐟 HAPPY FISHING 🎣 EVERYONE 🐟
