Easter Report 🐰 Galeries Lafayette Le Gourmet 🐿️

Watercolor of raspberry tarte

Yesterday I tried to get to the new Hockney show at Fondation Louis Vuitton

And somehow ended up in GALLERIES LAFAYETTE GOURMET of all places!
Definitely time to browse the new Easter goodies🐰
With Easter lurking just around the coin/corner 👌
Speaking of lurking - don’t forget Fr Easter eggs are filled with chocolate goodies inside like this Philippe Conticini egg 🥚
A little sticker shock realité from M. Conticini..
M. Pierre Hermé has a popup shop in addition to his regular stand at GLG…very sculptural this year it appears.
Pray tell me what this says dear PBers 🙏
M.Alain Ducasse is dreaming of fish 🐠 even though Premiere d’Avril is over.
An April fool I nearly fell for…23€ for a truffle! Quelle bon marché/what a bargain. Solid chocolate 🍫
I grabbed some pretty flyers when no one was looking 👁️
The nonexistent Paris squirrel 🐿️ turns up every Easter 🐣
A très charmant écureuil from fab chocolatier, Jean-Paul Hévin
Very silly animals from Dalloyau,
Somewhat reminiscent of Shaun The Sheep non?
Deluxe Alléno & Rivoire are very serious about chocolate beans, la féve, etc.
M.Yann Couvreur is foxy as usual this year
I was dreaming of finding another delish Chausson au pomme 🍎 trop tard 😬
How did I miss this? One of Pierre Hermé’s chocolate 🍫 themes is HORSES/CAVALIER 🐎 Karmic destiny?
Guess who is still playing with horses?
When I saw this horsey bag in Galeries Lafayette from Longchamp I nearly fainted. So perfect for taking sketching materials ✏️ to the races..dream in Carol.
What they were wearing dans la rue - tennis skirts and boots.
They (Parisians) were taking in the sunny day.

So eager for your report on the Hockney exhibition! My favorite living artist. Your e-mails, whatever the subject, always start my day, here in Philadelphia, with brightness, often thoughts of chocolate!

Hockney is my favorite too 🎨
It’s complicated to get there and even the RATP can lead you astray. Other museum nearby were closed as always for Tuesday. So the museum of chocolate called my name 😀

Please let us know what route you take to the Hockney exhibit. I have tickets for the end of may when I will be in Paris .

I love the peek behind the curtain of Parisians going about their daily lives as much as I love seeing your cheerful and fun art Carol!

I love your Easter chocolate posts, Carol! No one does holiday treats better than the French. ❤️

I know you prefer the Metro, but try Bus 73 from the d’Orsay to the ‘Maurice Barres’ stop. It is a 1/2 mile walk on well traveled paths through the Bois to Fondation Louis Vuitton. You may see horses!!

Oh I am envious that the Hockney exhibit is there...I like him so much. I do wish that you could have purchased that horsey handbag!

  9. Thanks for showing us all the fancy French chocolate eggs etc. how disappointed the French must be when they get a nice hollow egg here in Australia! I like all the bright colourful foil ours are wrapped in (we can collect it onto a big ball and put it in our recycling bin).
Wish you could have got the expensive bag, would have suited your horse sketching well. Love the horse paintings!
    Happy Easter
