NY UES Fall

I saw this NY Fall leaf sitting on a Manhattan something or other cover this morning. What do they call these things?

Two NY dogs standing on one of those whatsits as well...

NY ball park hot dogs - irresistable but I did.

I was saving myself for Sigmund's pretzel hot dogs. I've been dreaming about it for a while but if you're not in Brooklyn you have to go the Met to get one and I did this morning.

Some dreams do not come true.
Why is the sauerkraut flavored with mustard and catchup? I like my sauerkraut straight up unadulterated. Next time I'll stick with their tried and true Cheddar-Truffle pretzel - one of the best things on the planet.

Never mind. Sant Ambroeus' pistachio gelato never disappoints.

The UES/upper east side is all decked out for halloween.

Pumpkins line the fancy grocery shops.
I bought an Acorn squash yesterday to get in the swing of Fall. What should I do with it?

There are plenty of consolation prizes in the UES if your hot dog disappoints like La Maison du Chocolat's chocolate pumpkins.

You know it's Fall when the obligatory orange and yellow zinnia planters come out everywhere on the UES.Are these zinnias?

The nearby florist shop is loaded with them.

The florist's cat is having a good scratch on the decorative goards and squash for sale...

This pair of squirrels appear on upper Madison Avenue every Fall and hang around through Christmas. Then they go back in the cellar till the next Fall.

A NY UES girl walking her tiny sweatered pup.

Two little NY girls dressed in universal pink. What else?

London Leaves

London leaves are not falling down yet...
Like they are in Paris...
There are plenty of leaves in London windows.
Very Fallish too.

You can buy Fall bouquets on every London street corner.
Are they from Paris?
A lovely leafy chandelier.

I ate my leafy greens at favorite Covent Garden resto, Food For Thought yesterday.

Paper leaves are strewn about.

White paper leaves.

Falling on Autumn wedding gowns...
Wear a leafy hat when you go out to walk the dog?
Or line your teepee with Fall leaves?

Why not buy an autumnal bouquets in orange and yellow.

The pumpkins are out in full force!
I'll look for a chocolate leaf for you to nibble in Borough Market today.
BONJOUR LONDON LEAVES!

Paris Signs of Automne

Does anyone do up their windows for automne/fall like the French?
One lone apple tells the story.

Falling leaves..?

Iconic.

Even better - chocolate leaves for Fall.
Best of all leaves at Place des Vosges.
Or just one fallen leaf beside an orange Pierre Herme bag of goodies

Cepes-champignon-mushrooms.

Toujours/always signs of Fall in Paris.

And plenty of real cepes in the Paris marches.

Venison, lapin, wild boar - more tastes of fall.

And what will Bambi wear this Fall?
Toujour l'orange!

On Monday Jan Gossart's fruity autumnal wreath made me think of

Or should I say made me dream of

JAM! Pain Quotidien's jams on the communal tables are left unattended! miam-miam

No, I showed restraint and did not eat them to the last drop...
BONJOUR AUTOMNE!
You may have to go to Boston or New York to see a real one.
