Yesterday the SALON DE DESSIN opened.Spring 🌸 has arrived.
Beaucoup drawing ✍️ shows are on this weekend, like DRAWING NOW.
Traditionally 19th century artists like PISSARRO, did not put paint 🎨 to canvas directly
I made these studies of vegetables 🥕 Layered like that they look pas mal, especially if in a nice frame 🖼️
A grouping of arm studies can become poetry, in a way the finished painting never could. More contemplative 🤔
Under 3” ink drawing by Henri-Joseph Harpignies.
A rare sketch from J.J.Grandville in its original mat (6 grand).
I don’t remember any original sketches at the Grandville exhibit at musée Balzac.- Only finished prints and lithographs.
A visit to Salon du Dessin is a step into quiet contemplation.
Great to see these posts! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI find sketches very satisfying and intriguing and love when you show yours.
ReplyDeleteThat artist in the tree is too fabulous!! Love this post!
ReplyDeleteThrilled to see that your poster of fruit made it to the Metro! Well done.
ReplyDeleteOh, this looks like fun! Lots of temptation. Is there the possibility of an average Joe/Jacques taking something home or are they all rather pricey?? Browsing is always a good option…leaving you with enough euros in your pocket for a fabulous bowl of noodles! 👏🏻
ReplyDeleteThank you Carol, as always!
ReplyDeleteI have always had a fascination with peeking through the pages of artist sketchbooks. I remember the day you allowed me to peek through yours!!! It was better than flipping through the pages of the Codex Leicester to me! When are you going to have your own show with all your sketchbooks on display? 😘+🤗 from 🇨🇦
ReplyDelete"Pleasure in Imperfection" is the best interpretation of wabi-sabi I ever heard. Love it❣️
ReplyDeleteYour drawings should have been in this show!!!!
