Winning the Dans Le TGV contest for 'things you do on the train'.
Remember last summer when I was jumping on trains every other day and painting. I wanted to win the DansLeTGV contest for 'things you do on the train'.Well I won 2nd prize 🥇 (a very nice 200€ Of travel vouchers).
Fortunately no one else was fool enough to try painting on a moving train though some did pick up a pen or pencil.
Today I used some gift vouchers to renew my annual CARTE SENIOR. If you like taking trains in France and who doesn't its best to have a travel card.
Plus SNCF sends you daily temptations. That's how come I went to Nice for 4 days (40€ A/R!) There are are discount cards for everyone(all 49€).
Tomorrow morning I'm taking the train to DIJON.
To the URBAN SKETCHERS FRANCE annual meetup. I missed Aix last year.
I plan to eat everything
Burgundian.
Any suggestions of any kind are most welcome. Would you like a painting of your favorite Montrachet? Just say the word. I may even run to Beaune for a vineyard tour🥂. Thanks for reading Parisbreakfast. If you enjoyed this please share with a friend. Get monthly Paris letters, maps and watercolors in your mailbox at ETSY. xxx💋Carolg and Bear 🐻 ❤️ the TGV
So will you be painting Dijon moutarde this weekend? Hope it’s a lovely trip.
ReplyDeleteWho know? Maybe...they have lovely mustard buckets
DeleteI put my paintbrushes in the one from last trip...
You won 200€? I'm not surprised.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. Have a wonderful trip.
Thanks Mary
DeleteI have to start planning more trips to use up the vouchers before they run out!
Any ideas? Annecy...Nice? Where do I go?
Oh my, yes! We love Beaune!
ReplyDeleteThe Saturday morning market at Place de la Halle is a good one. Seems the whole town turns out for it, and they all seem to know each other! And the Hospice de Beaune (or Hôtel Dieu), is right next to the market.
OK I'm going...I went several times in the past but missed the marché!
DeleteI do remember!!:) And how beautiful is that painting Carol? BEAUTIFUL.Have fun..love the way you added your red glasses:)
ReplyDeleteMustard buckets...oh I wish I had seen some:)
Congratulations on your win! Burgundy is a beautiful area - we rented a house in Sevigny les Beaune for a week and had a wonderful time exploring. Vezeley is another enchanting town. I really love your wine painting at the end of todays blog - one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteThank you Suki!
DeleteCONGRATULATIONS.
ReplyDeleteLove your paintings.
Have a fantastic weekend.
Bonjour once more. I moved to center city Philly and put off Paris til the fall. I adore les escargots! I would be thrilled to see a pic of those delicious creatures! Enjoy your summer!I
ReplyDeleteI was going to get escargot tonite but ate coq au vin instead
DeleteCarol, congratulations on the win. I've only taken the train a few trips, but am happy to know about the Carte Senior. Still hopeful that return trips to France are in my future. We spent a week in Beaune in 2011 and took a day excursion over to Dijon. We enjoyed both! My souviners from Beaune were a group of antique Dijon Mustard crocks. I just knew I would find some in Dijon, but only ones I saw were at the store and they were way too expensive. But there was a petite antique venue on the square in Beaune that had a wonderful selection. My souvenir from Dijon was a fabulous large faience jug. We had rented a car and were driving, so I could carry it.
ReplyDeleteHope you will paint some mustard crocks!
They are adorable Sarah!
DeleteI will definitely keep an eye out for them 👍🏻🎨
Hi Carol,
ReplyDeleteNice photo on the Senior card! I pictured you with dark longer brown hair for some reason.
Have fun in Burgundy.
I did have dark brown hair as a young thing...
DeleteNever very long though...too fine. I always wanted it...maybe I should get a wig?? And fulfill my dreams....
J'aime les boîtes de peinture à l'aquarelle. Puisque ton anniversaire est là, tu pourrais probablement utiliser une carte senior
ReplyDeleteOne tends to covet other's paintboxes
DeleteWow! Congratulations! And good choice on spending your winnings!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the wine painting. I keep trying wine and getting better at it (drinking and painting) but I've a long way to go!
Congratulations on second place! It was very impressive to see you painting on the TGV. Have a great trip to Dijon and enjoy the eating :)

Hello there, my name is Darci Lyne, I read a post-comment online of a Los Angeles Based Journalist Reveals How he Permanently Cured Weak Erection & Quick Ejaculation 2 months after His wife Left Him and he also said Dr. NOSA makes his ex-wife return back after 2year of separation. I contacted the same Dr. NOSA because of my challenges in life, I have these Powerful Intentions that things will work for me, I believed in testimonies are real life proves. Hi Carol, we got that senior pass. It paid for itself in a single trip! I’ve been thinking of Grasse. Might you go there? I love your architectural paintings!
