You get 1-2 guesses where I've moved to in Paris.
Ahem...
It was quite an ordeal admittedly. And it's the FOURTH move in a year! Back and forth rolling on the Metro.
Bear loved his pink chair in the 19th.
So we had to roll it over the pont/bridge to keep him happy. Though we did not sit down on it in the Metro like we would have if still in New York. JAMAIS.
Bear is very fond of the view. In fact he's thrilled to bits and stands transfixed at the window all the time. I want to say "turn the damn thing off already" except I'm there standing right beside him. We keep checking to make sure it hasn't gone away since the last time we looked.
Waltzing around our neighb..excuse me quartier is a trip and a half
Looking up is pretty thrilling.
Fortunately many chocolate/ice cream shops are closed when we pass by...
We can't wait to get back to painting Paris facades again. These are entrancing...
Yum Miam
This boulangerie is a dangerous place. We will only pass by on wednesdays and thursdays when they're closed.
Carla Coulson shot us here at Cafe Regis at the end of the Island last year. Did she somehow know something we didn't?
The other night coming home crossing pont Sully our socks were knocked clean off by this light show from a passing bateau Mouche. So have you guessed yet where Carol and Bear are?
Ile Saint-Louis! One of my favorite places! Time stands still and Berthillon is close by!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, Ile Saint-Louis! Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteFeeling extremement lucky these days ;))
DeleteYou moved to Isle Saint Louis……
ReplyDeleteOH my God….
Go to the Brasserie de L’isle St Louis to show off … such a quaint place…
Lucky Carol
Bien sur, you are on L'ile St. Louis, and I am so jealous I can't see straight!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your move to Ill St. Louis........wonderful location. I rent an apartment on the Place Dauphine when I come to Paris, so we are neighbors. Your blog makes my day shine everyday of the year!
ReplyDeleteOMG, Carol, are u on isle St. Louis?? Unbelievable! How did u swing that?
ReplyDeleteBelieve me it wasn't easy.
DeleteLots of waiting, hoping and praying involved to be sure.
I can't believe you got to move to the Il St. Louis! C'est formidable!
ReplyDeleteFor many years, I had the use of my New Calendonian friends apt just opposite
the school... their windows were just above the restaurant, whose name is escaping
me. Brigitte Fontaine lives in that building and may be you will run into Jody Foster
who also lives I think down towards the arches...
Oh wow, the Île St.-Louis! One of my favourite places in Paris! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteIf you like Tango

DeleteÎle Saint Louis, I am just happy you are in Paris, Carol :)
ReplyDeleteWhere ever it is I want to live there.
ReplyDeleteomg! Who me, envious? No. Really. Well, okay, maybe just a teensy weensy bit.
ReplyDeleteWowza, Carol and Bear! Enjoy!
(Is the toy shop called L'Arche de Noe still there? I have an adorable little stuffed rabbit that I bought there. Bear might meet some fun new friends!)
I just checked - Noah's Arc is at #70 I think..
DeleteTHANKS
Do tell of other favorite places on the island puleeze?
Can't wait to see more blogs from the Ile! Live the life!
ReplyDeleteHow long do you get to be there? Do show us some of the little hidden places!
ReplyDeleteYay! Congrats
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics, Carol. Judging by the comments, I guess that you really scored on finding an apartment on Île Saint Louis!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly looks beautiful & charming.
You (and Bear) are very lucky!
Just lovely, Carol! Hope you are all settled in.
ReplyDelete"island" living in Paris!
ReplyDeleteWell New York is an island but I don't think it's the same at all..
L'Île St.-Louis! Que tu es très chancieuse, mon amie!
ReplyDeleteWoah ;))
DeleteIf I hadn't found you, I'd know nothing about Paris. Reading the previous comments It seems like you've struck GOLD. can't wait to see more, pleas let me have a little peep inside !! Have fun,
ReplyDeleteCongrats: gorgeous place...the isle: Île Saint Louis !
ReplyDeleteIs that the boulangerie opposite the church ?. There is another great one on the street opposite the post office.
ReplyDeleteTheir tarte normande is my favourite treat. What a magic place to live in.
Yes opposite La Poste.
DeleteYummy chouquettes but don't get the soupe tomate...hmmm
You didn't. Did you? It is our favorite place in Paris. In fact, I was thinking of having you paint Cazanova at one of our favorite places on the island. There are just so many favorite places I can't decide. When we stayed on the island my husband would visit the boulangerie every morning, then the grocer across the street to buy water and my favorite peaches (yum). We would then go to Cafe Regis for my husband's cappuccino. Our favorite restaurant has changed proprietors. But, I love Amorino's gelato.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, we have a large black and white photo in our living room of Cafe Regis.
I can understand why you and Bear are staring out the window so much. What a view! (Note to self: must get back to Paris one of these days!)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
So glad the powers that be heard your prayers, congratulations!
ReplyDeletenice move! hope it has heat ;-)
ReplyDeleteYES wonderful that comes from air on the roof and heats up bricks or something and just keeps radiating warmth. I don't really understand it but ça marche!
DeleteNo more coming home to OPEN French windows!
Yes, I guess the isle too!! Lucky dog! I'm going to be there in Sept staying for a week. Can't wait!! Enjoy heat beautiful area. Riki
ReplyDeleteSoooo happy for you :-)
ReplyDeleteYour view is magnifique! We love the islands in Paris, too. We've live on both although on Cite for a longer period of time. My favorite place is an accessories shop up near the Notre Dame end. I don't remember the name, but I'm sure you'll find it.
ReplyDeleteI've guessed! Ile St. Louis, right? I've taken many a photo of many of the spots you showed -- but oh -- that view! Now THAT is one I'd like to see in person! Lucky, lucky you to find this spot! However did you find this? My friend Jerry is STILL trying to find a new spot this spring that is reasonably close to where he was so he can get home and shower between clients (that sounds mysterious. He's a personal trainer who works with people in their homes). Oh, Carol, I am so very, very happy for you! Happy Housewarming!
ReplyDeleteIt can't be fun doing all the physical moving, but what better way to discover every bit of Paris!
ReplyDeleteIle Saint Louis! Berthillon gave it away. Lucky you - can't think of a more fabulous place anywhere. No need to move again, that's for sure. Hope you enjoy every minute. If you learn of any worthy apartments there for weekly rentals, do share please. Keep the photos coming - they are wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteI am very happy for you and Bear, Carol. I have been imagining your new home on the island, and what it must be like to come home to Ile St. Louis every day. Congratulations! Leslie
ReplyDeleteThat would be a dream come true for me! How wonderful. Peaceful and lively both, and right in the center of Paris.
ReplyDeleteI can't think of a better place to live in Paris - it would certainly be my choice. Congratulations on being so very lucky. We like Le Sarrasin Creperie - have eaten there through neme & owner changes. Also Au Bougnat on the Ile de la Cite. I tried Waterlogue & have fallen in love with it.
ReplyDeleteLouis Jourdan and Simone signoret lived on ille St. Louis
ReplyDeleteL'Isle Saint Louis, bien sur! Vous etes vraiment un canard chanceux! It's my favorite place in Paris, like a little world unto itself.
ReplyDeleteVous amusez-vous bien!
