Hier

Bye bye NYC !
That garbage truck is taking away much of my ex-stuff.

I LOVE SAS! Much roomier than AF - 3 seats to stretch out and snooze. And you arrive in the gorgeous Copenhagen fab airport! Yay
I met darling Swedish mom taking her 10 year old on her 1st trip to Paris.

They helped me with my bags.

This is a SCULPTURE at CDG not my bags.

Roissy bus to l'Etoile.

The taxi stand is across the street from the Roissy bus stop at Etoile, but this terrific taxi driver came across the street and schlepped all my bags to his car. No way could I have done it. Tears almost started rolling.

Start unpacking for 30 minutes?

Or run out and hear my fav musicians in the Metro playing Russian tunes.

To the Carrousel du Louvre for

The salon du livre culinaire (more to come)

Home to eat my favorite soups de ravioli de crevettes. MIAM!
I brought my Tempurpedic travel mattress to Paris. I think it froze enroute. Never mind..a bit of New York in Paris.
 BON NUIT!

I've done things like this and it's scary and exhausting especially lugging cases.
I'm so pleased that you have decided to take the plunge. Life is for living.
    Bon courage!

  3. Glad you travelled in style and had the pleasure of the lovely Danish people at CPH airport, and then treated as royalty by your French taxi driver. I hope you gave him a tip :-) Enjoy your new life, it won't be long before you'll be classed as a Parisienne....

Please tell me that you did NOT take that pyramid of suitcases on the Roissy bus! As the other writer said you are "hier" where you belong. Can't wait to hear more details. Quel Arrondissment ? etc.

    Congratulations on the move! Envy!
When I was in Paris last May I think I caught your Russian musicians on video...they were fantastic and the tunnels gave wonderful acoustics. In my two weeks there one of my favorite things was riding the Metro and finding new music.
(I am not a skilled video person and this was a first attempt with my iPhone.) I had to immediately go watch it this morning and once again I wish I was there...

I've been following you for years and would love to know what you've decided to do. Obviously you will be living in Paris now. For a trial, semi-permanent, forever? Did you find a furnished apartment? I lived there a decade ago for two years and miss Paris so much. You've given me the ability (vicariously) to go back with you. Why did I not take many pictures when I lived there?! So happy for you.
    Bonne chance!!

    1. And I was thinking what backbreaking work! Still my dream is to write the menus in chalk on the ardoises in Paris.
      Go figure ;))

I thought my years installing art bulletin boards in my classroom gave me great qualifications for the Metro job. You, with your excellent skill at watercolor, will rock the ardoises! (I only know the word ardoises because on the recommendation of Paris Breakfasts Blog we visited Le Bon Bon au Palais and when it came time to translate the 1951 rules of what is forbidden to students that Georges has framed by his door we really puzzled over the word. Please remember not to erase your mistakes by spitting or licking the ardoise!!
