I'm eating this "Donna"chocolate by Knipschildt this very minute all because yesterday, mStudios said:

painting whites is such a challenge!
NOT eating the pastries is probably worse...
Those mini pastries were made of epoxy = inedible mStudios!
YUP, so I had to go out and find REAL Valentine's chocolates for you!

Etude Blanche

Painting white objects is no piece of cake it turns out...Hmm I am up the whazoo with gateaux blanche here thanks to my greediness for mini this and that.. Here's a Mozartian white wedding gateau... *Note the 2 shades of white - cream plus a little touch of pink - the heart. When there's a transportation strikes in Paris you discover new things. Like these fabulous and gorgeous ( I know, I know gorgeous means multi-colored, just wait) ceramic pear sculptures. Pears sit in Restaurant Benoit's windows on 20, rue St. Martin, noted for it's turn-of-the-century Belle Epoque bistrot decor. And artichokes... This handsome huge snail sits in L'Escargot's window on rue Montorgueil... Another of Benoit's window displays.. So what's the point of all this white? Well that's just it! There is a lot of color in white. Warm and cool colors depending... White is the combination of all colors of the visible light spectrum. Like these tarts are decidedly warm in tone...

Hmmm...a bit of blue AND warm tones in this gelato... Gelato for breakfast anyone? I'm in!

White roses are the perfect subject for color in whites...

This Illy poster was outside my front door in Paris and I was ever amazed by all the colors...well maybe just amazed!

New York Breakfast

A tiny surprise today-a New York breakfast.Wayne Thiebaud Bacon & Eggs hangs on the wall planting a visual seed. After all breakfast is breakfast. Merisi said:

My studio is full of mini Rement breakfasts.You want croissants? I've got them. You want baguettes? I've got them. Confiture? Just name it.For the Paris-lovers out there the tiny surprise is:
I booked my flight yesterday-I'm going back to Paris.

Though we're still playing with mini-food here in mini-land, in 5 weeks we'll be back playing with Parisien food. I'm ordering a special mini-suitcase to take some stuff with me. Hasn't that croissant earned a chance to visit Paris too?

 Petit dejeuner is served.ParisBreakfasts made it into lovely Somerset Artful Blogging quarterly magazine. It's a magazine that focuses on artists publishing creative blogs online.PB was interviewed by France Today online for Frenchie-oriented blogs. Now where is my mini waffle set with the syrup?

Accidents Happen

With so much...
Mini stuff all over the place...
I mean it's BOX CITY here!
And chachkas everywhere.
Well they do say that 90% of accidents happen in the home...
So is it really a big surprise that I sat on my new little boxes.
This accident was intentional.
*note the hammer head in the upper right corner.
After I robbed the bank, I went browsing at F.A.O. Schwarz for miniature flower arrangements for my still lifes. Naturally I brought along my own tray and cups to make sure they would all co-ordinate nicely...

I took a liking to this tulip arrangement ($16.00!), but the damn vase wouldn't stand up straight and kept tipping over. When the sales woman turned to assist another customer looking at $600.00 dollhouses, I tried madly to twist out the bouquet and place it in the vase that did stand up. But she spotted me out of the corner of her eye and asked me to stop messing with the flowers :(

I ended up buying the Gawd damn vase, brought it home and took a hammer to it. Believe me it wasn't easy!? And it took all day to dissolve the probably toxic glue holding the floral arrangement together.

Now I've got the loose flowers I wanted and they look like HELL.Sometimes you should leave things well enough alone.

Here's an accident waiting to happen...

My room mate's new Turkish teapot is fine.

It's the little mini teapot that could easily fall into the fire. WATCH OUT little teapot! :O

Miniature Macaron Boxes

YES, I figured out how to make wee little macaron boxes.

And without out-sourcing to India or China too.

When I showed my Quelle Wrecked studio you got all dreamy about the pile of macaron boxes and planted a thought in my head.Maybe I could figure out how to make these. And I figured it out. It's true that my boxes are "bottomless".  I have to go back to Boxology class and resolve this bit of technology.Can you tell which one is the REAL box? You know I love to show comparative analysis. We're very scientific here at PB, always doing research...endless research for your benefit. Here's a Boulangerie sugar cube for size comparison.
