Mini Chocolat Chaud

More minis! Fasten your mini-seat belts!
Are you fed up with all this mini nonsense?
Oui or NON?
mini cafe Yesterday doudy said: In France you'll find many mini things -
One of them is cafés with mini tables, and mini chairs.(With NO mini smoke these days I might add...)
Ann (MobayDP) said: Well Carol, I suppose the only sensible thing left for you to do is to find a mini-Carol to sit in her mini-cafe on her mini-chairs sipping her mini-Pierre Herme hot chocolate in her mini-cups as she nibbles on her mini macarons!
Pierre Herme Bernadaud chocolate set So how could I resist painting Pierre Herme's Chocolat Chaud powder...?
The special Bernadaud chocolate set Ms Longears was referring to...
And the cups have fancy gold handles...Ahem
Here's a vintage brass chocolatier in Denise Acabo's chocolate shop window. The REAL thing!
She has this vintage chocolate poster too...
Meanwhile in L'Epicerie I saw this liquid in a bottle hot chocolate!
HMPH, though I shouldn't judge since I haven't tasted it-next trip

The tradional hot chocolate powder is what I go for and there are plenty of these to try in France. PLENTY!
A chocolate cafe on boulevard Beaumarchaise awaits you...
Here's the chocolate ardoise/menu to peruse...
Please take a mini-chair.

Your mini-hot chocolate is coming right up!

Mini Bla Bla Bla

New Pylones Piu-Piu in the house Announcement: NEW BIRD IN THE HOUSE!
This is Piu-Piu#1 from Pylones in Paris and acquired in 2006 And this is Piu-Piu #2
Bought to keep Piu-Piu#1 company.
The New love birdsAnd let me tell you these birds are inseparable!Of course it's true that these birds just happen to be magnetic...Ahem
Their main job is to collect metal paperclips =
They are "working birds"!
But these little guys are awfully fond of having tea with Pierre Herme desserts. In fact they've become regular slackers and refuse to mess with paperclips at all! Shocking is it not?
New mini tea setSo what's up with all this interest in mini this and mini that?
Mini tea sets and mini birds and mini desserts? Hmmm...
Provencal mini treasuresI'm trying to figure that out myself.
Did the attraction start in Provence or buying the 1st mini Eiffel Tower on a Paris street corner..?
L'Ile Flotantte on the Ile Saint-Louis Or at the petite boutique, L'Ile Flotantte on the Ile Saint-Louis.
I found myself taking pictures of mini nonsense everywhere...
This toy store on rue Cassette was loaded china sets even in the window. *Note the naughty drunken French pig at the table...
I meant to go back and buy one. I think with all the tough things going on in the real world, taking refuge in a mini perfect world seems like a pleasent escape at the moment...
Look! I spotted these mini fried eggs in my local 24-hour store in the Marais. Awfully silly and awfully sweet. Well they are candy after all...
BONJOUR MINIS!

More Mini Madness

Pierre Herme Mini Desserts #125 The MAISON PH DESSERTS MINI COLLECTION! has caused quite a stir in blogosphere.

Jeanette, Mistress of Longears left a comment on friday:
Scale is ALL. You must immediatement search out a smaller doll's teaset. Perhaps the Bernadaud I saw in your photos...nothing but the best for our petite princesse!
And I found one.
Granted it was in the 99 Cents store which I rarely visit.

Mini Ispahan #124LoveItaly never misses a trick.
A new piu-piu birdie? Cutiepatootie!

It's true I added another Piu-Piu to my collection last time in Paris.

MINI DESSERTS #124Janice C. Cartier said: I think the little bird is saying, " Nibbles for me, oh boy." And WendyB said: How cute! I always love it when the birds make an appearance.

Cris in Oregon said: Love them on the silver Tray.
Now you can buy faux Macarons & I can't even find real ones to taste.

DavidLebovitz.com said: I love those Hermé desserts, the mini ones. I wish they sold them here.
Di Overton said: Only you could manage to find these.
Not true -Anita of Desserts First said:OMG we totally think alike! I just found out about these too! Did you get the complete set?
I am eagerly waiting for mine to arrive in the mail!!!
All Things Bright and Beautiful...said: Dear PB, Many good things come out of Hong Kong!Tartelette said: OMG! I wonder if mom could score me some before she comes? Oh hell, she HAS to!

Of course, it's all very well pointing the finger at others and accusing them of silliness.

I'm the one struck down the hardest with this mini-madness.
Another set is coming from Angolz.com.
Stay tuned.

Mini Madness

New Piu Piu #123 You only had to wait 24 hours for the "surprise". I had to wait 2 weeks.

For the NEW - WONDERFUL MAISON PIERRE HERME DESSERTS MINI COLLECTION!I spotted on Flickr a wonderful photo by ICY NERD of these sweet little dollhouse Pierre Herme desserts and of course I HAD TO HAVE THEM!

I went madly searching all over the web and ended up in Hong Kong! The new set is made by MegaHouse in Japan.#121 Yellow Bird inspects PH chocolatesI couldn't really be sure what size the miniatures were? Would they go with my dollhouse tea set?Hmm...after careful comparative analysis I have to admit that no, they are much smaller than the dollhouse tea set. This "real" package of Pierre Herme hot chocolate powder is 4 1/4" tall versus the miniature is just 3/4" high.

Oh well..on verra bien as the French say. It will all turn out well hopefully. This is Pierre Herme's Fall catalogue, sized 5 3/4" wide by 8 1/4" tall
The tiny life-like PH sac is 2" x 2" You get the picture?

Christine Ferbier mini-confiture LOOK! Even one teeny, tiny jar of Christine Ferbier jam made for Pierre Herme is included. You tell me what the flavour is. My magnifying glass isn't strong enough. I think I need a microscope here.

Maison Pierre Herme Desserts Mini Collection You can order your set of 8 boxes of heavenly Maison Pierre Herme Desserts Mini Collection from Angolz.com in Hong Kong and you'll get it in about a week.

Plus Herme is having a contest/lottery for 8 free sets if you sign on before January 18.

At least all the desserts fit nicely on my dollhouse silver tray. Look at it this way - What better way to curb your appetite after the Holiday excess with these non-caloric miniatures?

I am so not ready to start practicing restraint!
I am not ready for the Holidays to be over...
I am definitely not ready to go on that long awaited diet :(
Or think about giving up anything. Someone wrote:
Clarify your choices for the next year - set some goals and/or intentions
I AM NOT READY!

I am not ready to start swimming for 1 hour every day instead of the 20 - 30 minutes 2 - 3 days a week I do now. Even with a swimming buddy waiting for me at the pool..like right this minute!
I'M NOT READY!

Did you see the big article in the NEW YORK TIMES yesterday on getting rid of your clutter?

Luckily I have till Jan 9 so I can procrastinate a bit :)

I'll think about all this tomorrow...meanwhile I better run to the pool!
I'M COMING
