Rouge Jaune Bleu

 Rouge, jaune et bleu aquarelle
I bought this little (1 3/4") Limoge-style perfume holder in Passage Jouffroy

I've been playing with mixing colors: reds + Yellows + blues since I got home

The most basic color triad out there.

Maybe I was inspired by these red cafe tables

On rue Rambuteau

This lemon yellow table top looks just like

Or Wayne Thiebaud's round yellow cheese painting full of reds and blues too.

Red + Yellow + blue are used a lot around food.

Like this boulangerie painting of a wheat girl

Or this chef eating his dinner and licking his chops

Down the street on rue Rambuteau is Cupcake Berko, famous for their colorful mini cupcakes. More goldeny than bright yellow but this tarte fine is still yum.
This post is making me hungry!

De Trop?

Which would you rather have? Fraise tagada from Haribo? Strawberry candies...

Or real fraises/strawberries in a Dalloyau mini charlotte? OK, that's an easy choice.

Did you know the French have several cookbooks devoted to their beloved penny candy de mon enfance? Oui, c'est vrai. De trop non?/It's too much

Too many Pizza Hut motorcycles lined up on bd de Richard Lenoir?
De trop?

Just the right amount of red/rouge in the Metro - parfait!

Big red bow on wedge baskets/sneakers?
De trop!

 Kasia Dietz red toenails?
C'est parfait

Plenty of red shoes on sale at Repetto during the soldes...
But just -20%?
Pas trop :(

Red shoes in the Metro...let me look again at Repetto

Mini red expresso take-away cup with silhouettes...
Parfait
Can you hever have too much French red fruit jams/confitures?
JAMAIS!
Have you tasted the red old-fashioned hard candies, coquelicot made from poppy flowers of Nemours? You'll find them in many fine Paris patisseries like Sebastien Gaudard et La Mere de Famille etc.
Red bag + red shoes
De trop?
Do you think Parisbreakfast should post just 3 days a week?
Is 5 days de trop?
Do tell all PBers svp

Rouge Coco Chanel

Chanel lipstick add with Vanessa Paradis Jamie Cat Callan wrote me,
"I wonder what your thoughts are on red lipstick? Do French girls wear it?"
This is a troublesome question. Certainment you see an awful lot of red lipsticks in Paris department stores Bon Marche, Printemps, Galeries Lafayette.
But do you see any French girls wearing red lipstick/rouge a levres? I don't.
Red shoes? Oui, bien sur!
Le parfume rouge?
Il existe!
La manteau rouge/red coats?
On every street corner
Red mini car
Le meme chose with little red smart cars.
Metro station Paris Red stockings in the red Metro? Why not?
If you're going to a bistro you will see rouge (the red meat)
Colored cafe tables Will a French girl sit at a table rouge? Pas de problem.
Red stationary And write with a red pencil in a red cahier/notebook from adorable Marie-Papier on rue Vavin? Pourquoi pas?
Red macarons A 4:30 gouter/snack of macarons framboise or fraise 🍓 may pass her lips.
Red strawberry fraisier Or any Parisien patisserie even a gateaux de rouge.
Watercolor of Herme pink dessert Pierre Herme Ispahan, watercolor
Red is one of my favorite paintbox accent.
Women’s Hat manikin But on a French girl's lips? Have you seen it? I have not.
Jamie responded, "I can't seem to give it up - perhaps I'll have to go to Lipstick Rehab!"
